Okay, so, I just went to the doctor today because for four weeks now, my pinky finger and my ring finger on my left hand has been tingling and part of my hand tingles too. It also hurts a lot sometimes and makes my arm weak.
My doctor told me it was my ulnar nerve and I pinched it somehow. So, she told me to go out and buy an elbow pad, like what they use in sports, and wear that to help brace it as well as use the padding to keep from hitting the nerve. Well, I've been wearing the pad all day and it's not TOO tight, but if I bend my arm too much, it causes my skin to turn really red and irritated and it's causing my skin to swell a bit and get puffy because of the pressure that's being put on it. I'm supposed to sleep in this, but I worry if I do, it'll be too tight. I'm not sure if anyone can really answer this without looking at my actual arm and brace, but should I sleep in it or should I not?

The skin swells and gets puffy but the pad doesn't seem too tight? It may just be too large in terms of area. The ulnar nerve doesn't have a real big area where it's exposed.
I've never pinched mine but I hit it very hard once in an accident. My arm from the elbow to the hand felt like it had been shocked and burned. It took a few weeks to get back to normal. Did you try some different types? I think the neoprene type is pretty uncomfortable. The old fashioned pads with adjustable straps are pretty comfy and you could cut it down to a more comfortable size. http://www.healthykin.com/showproduc...FVBgMgodLHkAog |

That might be where it all started

I'm still at a loss as to how I hurt it. I walked into a door about four weeks ago, and got a decent sized bruise. The tingling and the pain started a few days later. But where it's pinched isn't where I hit it...
Anyways, I'm probably stuck with the pad that I have, since while I am an adult, I still live with my parents and they're paying for all of it, so I don't think they'd go out and buy another one. But thank you for your help!

Mine just eventually went away on it's own.
I think I was leaning on my elbow too much, so I tried to stop doing that. ![]() |
