I've been feeling nauseous for a little more than a week now. Last night I went to the E.R and spent the night there to get drop and do some blood tests. I was released from there a few hours ago, and now I'm really hungry but I don't know what to eat. I've eaten a small cup of yogurt, it helped a little bit but the nausea is back again.
We have salty biscuits and regular biscuits at home, does biscuits ease the nausea? |

Biscuits? Try it.
I'd use ginger -in curry, or in tea, or candied ginger. Even ginger ale. Not sure which of these are available in your country. |

Hi Angel.
Ginger normally eases nausea, so things like ginger biscuits, or crystallised ginger would be good. Yes, salty biscuits will help, as its absorbs stomach acids. Also, mint tea is a very good remedy ![]() Have you actually been sick? If so, you will need potassium rich foods such as bananas and sports drinks.

I have tea with Ginger/Lemon (black tea) tea, chamomile tea, Raspberry tea and regular Lemon tea at home. I drank one cup of Ginger/Lemon tea this morning, it helped a little bit but the nausea was back again after 1 or 2 hours. This is a stubborn one...

Do you have any powdered ginger or fresh ginger? I reckon even ginger snap cookies would be good. I believe you have those in your country. There is probably not much ginger in the flavoured tea. Do yourself a favour and get the real thing. Powdered ginger in warm water tastes like medicine, but a 1/2 tsp of ginger will set you right for a while most likely.

I see. Okay, not to get on your case, but do you have a neighbour you can borrow from? Well, we used to do that when I was young. A safe neighbour, btw.

What is causing the nausea? Didn't they tell you at the hospital what to/not to eat? (nothing with grease). Potentially helpful article: 4 Ways to Fight Nausea - wikiHow

I eat what is called "sushi ginger". I actually like it.
Marijuana is the typical treatment for SEVERE nausea, and a non-psychodelic medication called Marinol, which is derived from marijuana, is also being used (it is very expensive). I do not know the legal medicinal marijuana situation in Sweden, but trying marijuana edibles to see if they help could be a good idea, if legally available. Also, but this is probably just idiosyncratic, I ate apple sauce by the jar when suffering from morning sickness (nausea in the first trimester of pregnancy). I also ate rice pudding with a touch of cinnamon. Both helped. Finally, eating tiny snacks frequently (whatever it is that you eat) would help. |
