My husband has been literally saying for years he will go to the doctor and get it checked out. I'm not sure what the doctor would do anyway. But I am sooooo tired of his snoring! He snores so loud I can't even sleep with him it's gotten worse in the past year. I'm trying to motivate him to lose weight, because that's supposed to help. He's just so freaking stubborn!
I just can't deal with not even being able to sleep in the same bed as my husband. I get so lonely at night
Has anyone else found anything to help snoring?

My hub is 56 and has used a CPAP machine at night for 14yrs.
Had a sleep study that showed he has obstructive apnea.
He was/is morbidly obese & snores, gasps, snorts, moans, etc.
But...this machine WORKS, also is a soft noise, like a fan.
Don't give up. Talk to his GP about how snoring affects both of you.
Take care.

Hey Red. I had to go through a sleep study. Although I don't snore, I do stop breathing in my sleep, which is just as dangerous as the obstructive sleep apnea. You hubby needs to get checked out. It can cause a whole bunch of medical problems.

Make the appointment for him. Lay down the facts. Admit to him that you are lonely at night because you can't lay beside him.

Get tough for his sake and yours.

Wishing you the best.

Yep he needs a sleep study. If he has sleep apnea and starts using a CPAP machine he will awaken with more energy (as will you when the snoring stops).

When my husband needs to go in I end up scheduling an appt. for him. If he's scared, offer to go with him.

I avoid the doctor when I'm scared too. Usually it's nothing, but it's still so hard for me to get in. Hell, I'm avoiding going in right now.

What is it he's afraid of? The diagnosis? The treatment?

My husband used to snore so loud I would sometimes sleep in the basement. Man did I hate it. For him it went away when he quit smoking. For my brother in law it was a weight thing. For a few other people I knew it was sleep apnea and they needed a C-Pap to sleep with which stopped them from snoring and uncontrolled sleep apnea is hard on your organs.

good luck with your husband.
