I hate this. I am so sick again. My sinuses are all flared up and my nose is all runny again. I wish that my older sister wouldn't have sat by me in church on Sunday. She was chewing mint gum and I am so allergic to mint period. I had a headache that whole day and then today my sinuses are all flared up and really bugging me. I don't know what else to do for them. I am on Zyrtec D for it and there really isn't much else I can take for it. I've tried flonase but that leaves sores in my nose and blocks my airway. Any way, I am at a loss! What should I do to feel better? I feel so sick!

Have YOU seen a ENT doctor...... my husband had surgery that really helped to relieve his 40 years of heartache with his sinuses and constant sinus infections, and he too had been through all the usual Rx medicines & sprays, not to mention all the natural and OTC drugs.

P.S.
look into being tested for your particular allergies and maybe get shots every three or four months.... surgery should really be the last resort, as it was for my husband. |

Saline drops might help your nose more without hurting it; the heating systems these days cause a lot of the troubles. I sneeze with mint and I'm always forgetting and eating it anyway then sneezing my head off :-) I'm congested and having trouble with my asthma at the moment but don't have identifiable allergies that cause it and, thankfully, no sinus problems, just stuffiness from the darn dry heat.

I don't know what Zyrtec D is...
I'm thinking it is a spray or something... Does it have steroids in it? Have you tried anti-histamine tablets? You can buy them over the counter. They can take a day or two to kick in... But allergic reactions are sometimes due to histamine being released from your body which results in runny nose, eyes etc as your body tried to expell the irritant. Anti-histamene tablets prevent your body making (or releasing - can't remember) histamene so that your nose and eyes etc dry up. Otherwise... For short term use... Cold and flu tablets with pseudoephidrine (as an decongestent that dried up eyes and nose) could help. Short term use though (not more than 10 days I think) 'cause of the pseudoephidrine... |

WIth regard to surgery... if you have nasal polyps you might need surgery, but any cortisone med will help shrink them so you can breathe..and maybe totally!
You have to be pro active regarding allergies... your sister shouldn't be chewing gum in church in the first place IMO, but you certainly have a right to ask her to quit with the mint! ![]() ![]() TC! Drink lots of water to help flush the toxins...

It's got three in one and it's a tablet not a spray. I take it every single day and have for the last couple of years. Still having problems with the allergies. |

Have you tried herbals? Echinacea, guarana, etc How about a humidifier? Or hot tea with lemon and honey?
