So, I had been vegetarian since February of this year and after doctors insistence cut dairy. I also made the personal decision to cut eggs since I never ate much of them anyway. Made the full switch to vegan about 10-12 days ago.

The gluten free was because I was having severe abdominal pain when I are glutenous food. I did a mini trial 3 days off gluten 3 days back on to figure that out.so I cut gluten 7-10 days ago.

The only thing I did NOT expect was the pound a day weight loss. YIKES! That can't be healthy! Especially when I'm not exercising at all.

Don't get me wrong I need to lose weight just wish it was at the healthy 1-2 pounds a week.

I did low carb for a week and was excited to lose five pounds. I read that it's really common to lose a lot of weight the first week of no/low carb, but it is mostly water weight-- and that definitely seemed to be the case for me. Maybe your weight loss will plateau as well?

Actually, that's not a surprise (the weight gain). I was just reading this blog post about this when I became dairy free. This is the excerpt I read in relation to the gluten free weight gain.

Quote:
"...That's when I started really studying the ingredients and nutrition facts and comparing gluten-free products to their regular counterparts. Almost always, the gluten-free versions were considerably lower in fiber and nutrients in general, and higher in starchy calories as well as sugar and fat, especially compared to the whole grain products that I had given up. And they made me feel hungrier, perhaps because fiber normally offsets the carb load and helps keep my blood sugar stable..."
