It's white flaky scaly stuff that itches and flakes off in mass quantities and looks like dandruff. Nasty stuff, I had a horrible case of it about a year ago and it was a bite to get rid of. A dermatologist can give you steroid creams for it or sometimes something like Head and Shoulders shampoo can help. Good luck, it's icky stuff! Mine tends to come out in time of stress.....

Mine comes out mostly in winter time when the air is particularly dry inside. I've helped it by using a humidifier during the heating months and it also helps the rest of my skin to not be so dry and itchy.

What about itchy raised spots that when squeezed produce colourless fluid.

That sounds like seborrheic dermatitis. I get flare-ups of that occasionally. It's itchy and when you scratch it your fingers end up wet... and there can also be white flakes similar to dandruff. I occasionally get a mild case on my left eyebrow and along my hairline -- particularly bad right above my ears. An anti-fungal cream clears it up quickly. Once in a while, I get it all over my scalp -- that's the worst! I use Nizoral shampoo to get rid of it.

LOL! I've never had it on my tongue or my bum! Only my scalp, my hairline and my eyebrow. It tends to flare up when I'm stressed. I'm really glad I don't get it on my arse. Scalp Psoriasis

Every few years I get it something fierce on my shin. Started when I was a teen and comes back with a vengeance every 5 years or so. It itches so much that it gets all thick and red and if I wear shorts people ask how I burned myself! Blah. I'm about due for a recurrence, come to think of it....double blah!

Still and all, shin beats butt any ol' day Scalp Psoriasis

I have been dealing with psoriasis for most of my life and I know what a frustrating condition it can be. My psoriasis is most severe on my scalp. Scalp psoriasis is very common. In fact, at least half of all people who have psoriasis have it on their scalp. As with psoriasis elsewhere on the body, skin cells grow too quickly on the scalp and cause red lesions covered with scale to appear.

There are several products available to treat scalp psoriasis. Shampoos are available over the counter that contain tar and salicylic acid ingredients and can be effective at controlling mild psoriasis. These medications are also available in prescription form. There are also a variety of steriod products available by prescription that are applied topically to the scalp.

The National Psoriasis Foundation is a wonderful resource for all things psoriasis. They have loads of information on what psoriasis is and what treatment options are available.
