I went off Advair about 3 weeks ago when all the blisters and such broke out...

I have become a person of the night - sun is my emeny - it was reacting with one of my meds to cause the blisters...

I have fibro... I think my hair even hurts... I ache all over... could it be that the Advair was also an anti-inflamatory for the rest of my body too?

My ankles hurt so bad, I could cry..

my tummy and head hurts too... so I am scared to death to go back on the Advair.. but I can't take the pain.

I was going to wait to next week when I see the PF doc.. but I can't take the pain (am allergic to all aspirn products)...

grrrrrrrrrrrrr....

Freewill,

You can't wait until next week. I have fibro, too, and yes, it makes your scalp hurt so much that your hair seems to hurt.

I don't know about the Advair. Is there an emergency clinic you can go to for help? Can you call your Dr's answering service and get some help that way?

Let us know.

Hugs,

Jan

have you tried mindfulness techniques for pain management? there have been some good outcome studies for it helping people with pain and especially for helping people with chronic pain conditions who are unable to take medications.

i have a chronic pain condition which is managed well with mindfulness techniques and the odd anti-inflammatory / panadol. i thoroughly reccomend it!

Thank you.. no I haven't tried "mindfulness tech" and will check in to it...

I am not a candidate for hypnosis, because of the DID DX - it causes too many memories to re-surface.. which isn't helpful..

Hi,

I'm on advair to and one component is an inhaled steroid, but they say that is totally different from like a prednisone, so I'm not sure that's what's causing your swelling.

Fibro stinks! I can literally feel your pain and I'm sorry.

I feel your PAIN.... I know your PAIN.... I live your PAIN....

I will say a PRAYER for YOU and you can say a PRAYER for ME..... for only GOD can take away the pain that you, I and many others suffer from on a daily basis.

And believe me when I say I understand when some one says..... my hair hurts, my head hurts, my ankles hurt, heck even my teeth hurt - for there is not a place on my body that does not hurt at one time or another on any given day.

Do you have asthma or COPD? I think the Advair is for that. Going off can put your breathing at risk? I've been having pain problems with my shoulder/arm and my asthma got out of control (I use Flovent) so I've have to have a short course of Prednisone. I hate when there's too much going on that's unknown and too many meds that might be contributing, etc. I stopped my two pain meds yesterday because they appeared to be making things worse. I'm ready to deal with the pain (less, my nerve problems have gotten a bit better in the last 3 weeks so it's not quite so intense, for whatever reason) rather than the meds that weren't doing much but making things yuckier.

Hope you and your doctor figure something out soon!

That was my confusion, also: advair is a daily asthma prevention medicine. IT can cause pain, though, like arthritis.

I saw PF specialist yesterday.. he would like me back on Advair.. I am resistant.. and yes my breathing is compromised at times...

The level of pain makes me cry... it hurts...unbelievably...

People always want everyone to be so "tough", but I think even the tough cry..

Oh yes, even the tough cry. You touched my heart so much with that.

I hope the Drs help you feel better, soon.

Hugs,

Jan
