As... some of you know I have had an eating disorder... for about 6 years... anerxia... binge w/purge.. and so on..

So.. my "system" is "shot"... long story short.. I have been to all the specialists... that have now identified.. the damage that I have done to my body..

What doctor... do I go to to help me... get better???

for instance... eating yogurt.. wth probotics... the milk product... made my asthma... very very bad... the probotics helped.... a great deal..

I am at a complete loss... I feel like I can't eat anything...

So..... the Question is -.... what kind of specialist do I go to.. to put myself back together.. physically??????

Thanks.....

IMO -

I think needs to be combined relationship between you and two different doctors...... your T and your GP - but make sure your GP is an Internal Medicine doctor.

sorry you are struggling with this.....

hmmmmmm... how about a dietician? (spelling?) I had to see a dietician when I was pregnant and had gestational diabetes-- I also am lactose intolerant so it was very helpful to meet with such a specialist. --or perhaps a nutritionist would be similar.....(these are just an idea)

The very best to you freewill- what kind of dr??? what kind of dr??? what kind of dr??? what kind of dr??? what kind of dr???

I would go to a gastroenterologist for a check up of my digestive system and then consult a nutritionist. The gastro could recommend you to a good nutritionist.

I wish you were here so you could go to my gastro. He has helped me feel so much better.

Hugs,

Jan

You can try a nutritionist too, at a local outpatient hospital setting... they are quite inexpensive and would be able to tell you what is good for your system right not. (((hugs)))) Hope you get well sooner rather than later.

I'd do a dietician specializing in eating disorders.

http://www.rdlink.com/topics/eatdisorder.htm

The dairy thing with the yogurt that made your asthma worse might just be lactose intolerance and fixable with lactase or different yogurt. I have that problem (with the asthma, and intestinal problems as a result of too many antibiotics after my appendix burst, and lactose problems). But a dietician would know how to try/test things in certain orders and adjust, etc. to get the most benefit?

I feel doctors can only help with "disease" not breakdown.

Yes, I too agree that a nutritionist that deals with eating disorders would be great to see - just keep in mind that you also need to address the issue(s) that created this problem in the first place or it will never truly go away, so still confer with you T and GP if needed.
