Found out it's a cavity and cracked, filling broke, and I need a crown. It's my first crown. Possibly will need a root canal but they'll see if the crown fixes the pain and I think it will.

I think I cracked the tooth chopping on a hard candy. Won't be doing that again.

Good luck with your first crown. Try to avoid letting your dentist talk you into having a root canal done. That wouldn't address the cracked tooth. I was advised the same when my fillings from childhood came apart but I refuse to let them drill inside my tooth. A crown should do the trick for your cracked filling. Not a root canal.
Thanks for this!
