Been feeling like shyt for over a month, more so mentally (irritability, mild psychotic symptoms, severe mood dysregulation) but physically as well (fatigue, weakness, nausea). One of my team people asked a couple times if I think it is more so a physical illness than a mental thing, especially since strep is apparently going around. I'm thinking strep is a sore throat which I don't have, so I say no, I don't need to see my PCP, etc.

Been in the ER where they do blood work, urinalysis, etc. for mental health and I guess they were more concerned with what drugs I'd test for than anything physical because neither urine collections were clean catches (was not given the wipes), but I did get an email from mychart saying I got new test results and of course I was curious. From the last time (2 days ago), I had high leukocytes, bacteria, mucus, WBC, and RBC, and it said I had Streptococcus agalactiae Group B in my urine.

They didn't tell me anything, and I'm assuming if it were something worth mentioning they would've mentioned it, and maybe it's not worth mentioning because it wasn't a clean catch and probably not worth a damn?

I don't really think I have a UTI from it either, but I don't know. Once I was treated for one, but I had no symptoms. I think I am numb in that department or something though (I had an error with a foley cath insertion and it came out/ripped a bit of my insides while I was walking and the nurse was surprised that I wasn't complaining about anything other than "should my pee be this red?"). Last night when I peed there was some blood when I wiped too, but I'm a female and on day 108 of my cycle that ranges from 19 days to 3+ years so who knows where that came from.

There's also the fact this hospital did not tell me times where I was anemic and had low potassium that needed treatment, but I was transferred to psych or seen outpatient after and was treated then, so maybe not trust that they'd tell me something I should know?

I have a physical in three weeks or so, so I can definitely discuss it with an actual doc focusing on one patient at a time sometime soon.

Yeah, I don’t think ERs are good at non emergency diagnosis. About 5 years ago I went because of horrible abdominal pain. They did an ultrasound or something and a not clean catch. Pee test. Told me I had a uti! Three days later when I followed up with my doctor he told me I had the unpronounceable thing, that ER should have given me pain meds for it but by the time I saw him it had resolved. It was my intestines twisted and cut off part of itself so that it died! When in the ER with mum who had a heart attack they were excellent. That’s what the live for in ER.

You probably need another UA. If you'd just had WBCs present then that would be explained by the lack of clean catch and the RBCs could be your period but the bacteria and mucus don't show up normally. 3 weeks is a long time for a UTI to brew without antibiotics; you could be pretty sick by then. If they identified the bacteria then they also did a culture to grow it out which makes it really strange that they haven't contacted you but ERs are probably not so good at follow-up about something that wasn't why you were there in the first place.

Just remembered I was on Cephalexin for 6 (?) days for infected cuts, last doses on 12/30. Could that affect the results or bacteria/possible resistance/potential treatment from the Jan. 2 collection?

At this rate I think I can make it to my scheduled physical though. I don't have any symptoms, unless my cramping is from the infection instead of a potential period (idk if there's a difference in how the pain feels, but it does feel similar to menstrual cramps but not as bad as normal but I had my birth control switched since my last period hoping cramps would be better)

I'd just watch for any increased symptoms. Definitely if you start running a fever you should check in with someone.
