My blood test came back and my blood sugar was 141. I was feeling sluggish this afternoon and my blood sugar was 171. I fell asleep for awhile and I feel ok now.

But is 171 bad? I've never been diagnosed with diabetes

I cannot tell you what is good or bad but here is a chart (scroll down on page) with different ranges Normal Blood Sugar Levels By Age (Chart) – Forbes Health

One thing some people do is they write down the time they eat and drink caloried products and then they check their blood sugar and see how it is after and a couple hours later.

I cut out sugar and all carb meals and snacks and include protein and that helps stop the mood swings that I get on a high carb diet where it goes way up after a meal and then in a couple hours crashes.

I was also seeing that carbs tend to get stored by the liver as fat on the body whereas proteins and fats tend not to. Talk to your medical people what is best for you.
