I was sitting here at the computer and started having trouble breathing and bad heart palps. anyway I do have mitral valve reguritation so that added to me getting more scared. I called my dr and the nurse told me to get to the er. I called hubby and he flew home to take me. he scared me even more with his fast driving to the point I told him to either slow down or let me drive! lol anyway got there and they took me straight back. turns out they believe it was from the new fluid pill I am on. they let me go in just over an hour! woo hoo.

Thank goodness you are okay Bebop.. WOW! what pills can do. If you ever get a chance...search online for Jeff Foxworthy's skit on Prescription drugs....it is hilarious.

I know all too well the frightening fact of when your heart acts up as I get bad palpitations (PVC's) and tachychardic attacks.. they never have figured if it was the anxiety causing it or it causing anxiety but MAN whne it hits you literally are scared for your life...

I have mitral valve regurgitation so yes I was scared. I didn't know if the valve was going on me or what. I am suppose to get a cardio referral tomorrow hopefully.

I went today hon. my stupid dr will not give me a referral for cardio! instead he gave me massive fluid pills along with potassium for when I take the fluid pills. now what do I think? In 3 weeks I have gained 9 lbs! like I needed that! I know it is fluid! I have bad pitting edema so I know it is water weight and he thinks I don't need to see a cardio! it is drs like him that kill women. they preach about women and drs not believing them about heart issues and I have one that basically laughs at me for my concerns. errrrrrrrrr I am switching ppo!

it may be edema, but a cardio dr. is what you need to see to exclude anything else.

tell your primary you must see a cardio and please give you the referral.
tell him you need this for your peace of mind and your health AS they are related!

the fluid retention and potassium are all fine and good, but you want a diagnosis that is current for your heart health....and this is not negotiable.

I went to get the referral. he would not give it. I am changing drs. I started on the lasix today. I am to take 40mg 2x a day. the first did nothing but that second one sure did! peeing my lil pea brain out lol but still have all the edema. errrrrrrrr

Please get to a cardiologist ASAP. Forget your needing a referral, just make an urgent appointment and go. Your life is most important.
