Friends,

I have been having pain in my upper back for awhile now, especially when I teach on Thursdays, and make my almost four-hour roundtrip trek to get there and back.

Anyway I had an X-ray yesterday, and a bone density test. I have scoliosis in my upper back.

Anyone else have this?

How is everybody else doing?

Jane~
I have some mild scoliosis in my L1-L5 vertebrae. Its cause some arthritis down there. Which is extremely painful to me. I dont know the answers to help the scoliosis. I just take medication for the arthritis symptoms ( mobic is the med)And then Ultram as another pain med.

Probably all the driving your doing is exacerbating the pain with the usagae of your arms too. Just a thought .. Hope you find a way to relieve the pain.

Take care!!
Hugz

Hi Sweet Sunshine,

Thanks for your input.

I had a bone density test at the same time, so I know I will hear more from the doctor's office.

The nurse said something about arthritis, and did I want pain medication. Thanks for sharing what you take.

What a cute avatar!!!

They are forecasting snow here for Easter.

{{{{{{{EJ}}}}}}} I have had four fusions, but since injuring myself at work I am also having upper back pain.
They have done a CT and MRI scan on my lower back with everything fine there. Now I just have the upper to worry about. I take Neurontin for the pain.

Good luck.

Arthritis is what I was going to suggest as the possibly cause of your upper back pain...... as that is how my husbands Dx of Arthritis started out...... what took him to the doctor in the first place.

Apparently it runs in families; how's your grandmothers' backs? :-) I don't have anything like that in mine I don't think. My aunt just turned 87 yesterday and she's had back problems and operations but not for scoliosis I don't think.
