Hello all! My husband and I struggled to conceive naturally, which took a mental toll on me. We ended up opting for IVF treatment from the best IVF centre in Punjab. The treatment was successful – I was able to conceive. I am in my fourth month right now. However, my husband, who was diagnosed with anxiety and OCD a decade ago, feels the need to check on me every fifteen minutes. I love him; he is being exceptionally sweet. But I also want him to stop. How do I make him believe that I am truly fine? I would appreciate any comments. Thanks!

I don’t think you can make him believe. Is he in therapy? Good therapist could work with him on some strategies. My husband also has anxiety and OCD so he always worries about me. So I can relate.
Congrats on your pregnancy! |

What if you start by telling him that the second trimester is the most stable part of pregnancy? You are generally past the miscarriage risk, but not yet where you can be at risk of premature labor. What if you thank him for the concern, reassure him, and tell him that in the future he can resume worrying, but for now it is ok to take a break?
I agree with Divine that therapy for him would be fruitful now, not even so much for your sake (that, too, of course), but for the sake of the baby. Imagine your H growing into an overprotectice, excessively anxious helicopter parent - that might feel suffocating to the child who will one day appreciate an opportunity to spread his or hew wings.
