If all he did was to check a box, I'ld have to agree with you. A truly supportive doctor (not all of them are) will offer to write a letter to the SSA explaining at some length why he thinks that you are incapacitated from holding down a job successfully. Any lawyer will tell you that is one of the best things to have going for you - a doctor who will write such a letter.
Thanks for this!

I guess he felt like he didn't need to.

One thing that was used against me was the doctors reported that I "appeared well nourished." Like what does have to do anything?

That's a standard observation that doctors typically put on a general assessment of your well-being. It does not, in any way, undermine your other diagnoses. I appeared well-nourished, and that was not held against me. I got approved.

If the doctor put down that you were poorly nourished, that might go against you. The SSA might say, "Well, maybe if you ate properly for awhile, your condition would improve and you could hold a job."

Your doctor was not trying to sabotage you. He was completing a standard evaluation.

Oh, I know that it's standard procedure. The JUDGE used that against me. The reason I know that is because I read the unfavorable notice. That was repeatedly in there> It said in there a few times, "....although it was stated in the report that she appeared well-nourished," "however, Dr.-----stated that she appeared to be well nourished," etc. I am quite aware that the doctor was not trying to sabotage me and I never said that he was.

The judge will use just about anything against you.
