I've had trich for about five years. The most important thing I've learned is to keep my fingernails short. Other things that help are avoiding caffeine/stimulants, wearing long sleeve shirts (I pick at my arms), staying away from mirrors, painting fingernails, and making sure my hands are busy doing anything else.
How do you prevent picking/pulling? |

Good Suggestions!
The most effective way to prevent picking/pulling for me is to cut my fingernails really short so that I cannot grasp the hair properly. I recently ordered a fidget bracelet, which looks like an ordinary silver bracelet in order to keep my hands busy. |
