This is awkward and embarrassing to share. I didn’t know where to place this topic.

Ever since I was a child I’ve been unnerved by lotion on my skin.

I am of a darker hue so I have to wear it too look polished not ashy. Plus I have dry skin.

I can’t seem to wear lotion because I feel like I’m never clean enough. I feel like I will be masking dirt by putting lotion on top of dirt. No matter if I shower.

In addition, I can't wear bras in comfort because I feel like I’m not clean enough. As though the clean bra is rubbing against my dirty skin.

When I put lotion on and a bra, I feel so uncomfortable. I want to cry, fear, skin crawling, sweating, nervousness.

hypnotherapy could help you , as to how you feel about yourself , raise your self esteem.
we all feel difficult in our own skin, there is nothing to be embarrassed about.
take care

I understand the feeling. I've started thinking that when i put lotion on immediately after i wash it is more of a protective layer against dirt. when i wash the next time i'm washing off the lotion and dirt it's collected on top of it, and my skin underneath is staying clean. Plus, I have to have the lotion if I want my skin to heal from washing so much and scrubbing too hard. It's difficult, but after a while I got used to it. I think as soon as your skin gets better from moisturizing, you will feel better about it being clean and not dry because the healthier it is, the less dirt can get into your skin.
Thanks for this!

I'm sorry this is causing you so much distress. I also get extremely uncomfortable about bodily things. Like if there is a pimple, or a cut or something on my body/skin I will obsess about it and become very nervous and agitated.
For example, I found out last week I have a cavity and I've been obsessing and agonizing about it til today when I'm getting it filled. Health and body things really freak me out
I hope you can find some way of dealing with this, are you in therapy?
