Mine is not under control, unfortunately. But I'm hoping it will be in the future.

My OCD is kinda under control, but not really. It depends on the day. Lately, I have been really depressed, so it hasn't been as bad. I haven't gotten intrusive thoughts or anything lately. I have needed to do my compulsions a few times today though.

Social anxiety disorder, GAD, OCD, and panic attacks

Lexapro, 10 mg

My meds are really really helping. I'm starting a new job though and I'm worried.

The last job I had was very similar to this new job - same industry, same responsibilities, same extreme repetitiveness. Towards the end of the last job, before we all got laid off, I really started to lose it with my OCD repetitive checking/perfection type compulsions.

I went on meds after while I had time off. I'm hoping that might help this time around. I'll know soon enough.

No we were all let go, the company shut it's doors. I kind of saw it coming so I stuck around til the end.

This new job didn't work out. I'm a little bummed but I think it's for the best. No job is worth risking your sanity.

Ruining my life. I'm like you, Nike007. Because I'm so depressed right now, my OCD isn't as intense. But it's still there, invading every thought that I have every moment of the day.

That's me too. Well, it was then at the time. Now though, OCD is the worst thing I have. Well, the worse that is showing anyways. I need to wash my hands every 10 mins or so, and I have winter allergies, where my skin dries and bleeds, so using hand sanitizer stings and burns, but I can't help myself.

To answer your question is my OCD "under control" , no it's not, actually on a scale from 1-5 and 5 being the worse honestly i'd say a 4 , it's a shame at times the way I think because I know better in that I can "control" almost all of my thoughts yet when it comes to the OCD I fail almost always - when I find myself being real obsessive I try to redirect my thought/s and tell myself "you're doing it again Rich" and most of the time it works, not always !

Nishan I wish you well I can't imagine what you're dealing with , God bless you !!

I was just diagnosed. It never came as a surprise; I have been denying it and trying to hide it for years. I was put on another medication yesterday to try and help me manage it and my anxiety. This all came out during my CBT. My psychiatrist gave me some tests and checklists (Y-BOCS) and I was shocked just how high I scored - and how much my anxieties are a refelction of the OCD.

(((rcat)))

I also was given a checklist. She dx'ed too, but she hasn't seen the checklist yet. I haven't denied it, just mine usually only focuses on one thing at a time. Contamination is right now, so...

It hasn't been that bad lately, it comes and goes. Exposure therapy has really helped me and the Prozac seems to be helping as well.

Two weeks ago my OCD was out of control. The intrusive thoughts were literally non stop all day long. My psychiatrist adjusted some medications and I'm doing better for the moment, but I'm still searching for the right combination, dose, etc... to really fell better. At least now I can work on my CBT which also helps.

I'm extremely supersticious about following routine; but, since I have started the new medication the catasrophic thoughts aren't as extreme. They are more about having good or bad luck.
