For about 2 years now I've suffered from OCD thoughts mainly religious thoughts but I've been on zyprexa and now latuda. I still have these thoughts all the time every day despite medication. Does it ever end? I'm mentally exhausted. Any suggestions?

Hello blondie899: I'm sorry you are struggling with this. I don't know anything about it really. But I saw no one had replied to your post so I thought I would. California therapist Kati Morton has a video on Pure O on her YouTube channel:

Perhaps hearing what Kati has to say about it might be of help to you.

If you don't have any other medical condition just OCD than I dont think you need any medication maybe an anti depressent like SSRI or MAOI

Actually, medication alone cannot stop OCD. Medication helps you to fight OCD. Have you tried therapy..
Thanks for this!

I think latuda and zyprexa are antipsychotics. I agree that you need an antidepressant, an SSRI or a tricyclic maybe. MAOIs are a bit limiting. There are certain foods you can't eat on them. Chocolate and cheese I think. I am on Tofranil and it works well. It's a tricyclic antidepressant.

I don't know why they would put you on antipsychotics for OCD. Unless you are on an antidepressant they really shouldn't. Sometimes they mix the two. The antipsychotic is supposed to enhance the effects of the antidepressant.

I would ask for an SSRI or tricyclic antidepressant. But therapy is best to get to the reason for the problem and work out how to stop it.
