When my recovery from surgery is complete (soon, I hope) I need to find out why for the last 8 or 9 years I've been having intermittant low-grade fevers. My temperature is usually between 98.2F and 98.8F but every now and then it will go up to 99.00F and has even been as high as 100F. More often than not it's this high when I go to the hospital or clinic but almost always normal when I take it here at home (it's also been normal at the clinic many times). The doctors never seem to be the least bit concerned about it and when I've asked, they sometimes tell me that it could be my sinusitis, rhinitis or IBS -or- just because I'm "nervous". However, I know there are various conditions that will cause this too but all of the tests I've ever had (and I've had many of them over the years) have always come back normal. Has anyone here ever had occassional, low-grade (very low) fevers or known anyone who has had them?. I'd sure appreciate any information on this you all could possably provide. I posted something related (but different) to this topic earlier I think but now I'm not sure and I'm so full of meds right now I don'y know up from down.

I have the opposite problem. When I get sick, my temp actually goes *below* normal. Figure that one out. Beats me but I'm not worrying about it.

Your body temperature fluctuates regularly whether you are sick or healthy. Women who are finding their ovulation cycle see this and often ask their Dr's about it, because they take their temp so often as part of the process. Any temperature between 96 and 100 is considered normal and not a fever, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I seem to have a similar issue although mine's not as high as yours and it's only when I go to the doc so I'm lying the blame there. My norm is about 97 to 98 and my normal BP is around 120/60 (I know cause I got a home BP tester thingie). When I see the docs, my temp is in the high 98 to low 99 range and my BP is around 140/80ish. It's probably just nerves Grey. I wouldn't worry about it, especially since you've had all those tests done.
