Took the Mood Tracker Quiz. Not sure what it all means. Does it mean I am depressed? I don't feel depressed.

Quiz Name Score Taken on Mood Tracker
View Mood Tracker Depression: 34
Mania: 7
Anxiety: 27
Sleep: 25 (5 hours)
Disorder: Other Today (06/17/09) at 08:53

Yes, it means your depression score is higher than the average normative sample. Are you depressed? Well, depression comes in many different forms and can sometimes mask itself as something else. But only you can answer that question if you don't feel depressed at all...

  • Depressed Mood: 36
  • Manic Mood: 30
  • Anxious Mood: 60
  • Sleep: 15 (Sleep hours: 5)

Oh dear...

Well, looks like we all have bad things going on then.
I'm not exactly surprised.

I agree with doc john, a quiz can't tell you if you're depressed, but it can be a guide - my results were as follows:

Depressed Mood: 32
Manic Mood: 32
Anxious Mood: 33
Sleep: 45 (11 hours)

= depression

But like radio_flyer, I don't feel depressed... but then, I don't feel good either - in fact, I just kinda, feel nothing at the moment (which is probably a sign of depression anyway).

Is this a new feature doc john, because it feels a little, incomplete - particularly the questions about sleep - because I'm getting a lot of sleep, but it's sooooooo out of whack, I can't fall asleep, the birds are singing when I finally do - but once I'm asleep, I'm asleeeeeeep, and I end up missing out on most of the day - I think things like that are more important than how much I'm getting

It's just a thought, the might be some tweaking that may make the mood tracker more relevant to the individual

Thank you Doc John. I won't ask at this time what the the average normative sample would be. Maybe I should know. I am happy I am at my son's house. I am here to paint, work in the garden, and do yard work. A tad overwhelmed as there is so much to do. Enough to keep me very busy all summer. Maybe I need to be honest with myself. And stop taking the busy excuse. Is kind of funny. I am rather honest with other folks, but when it comes to me, I do tend to lie. Once I sort out which is truth, maybe I can do some more self help work.

morning_view....you wrote "But like radio_flyer, I don't feel depressed... but then, I don't feel good either - in fact, I just kinda, feel nothing at the moment (which is probably a sign of depression anyway)."

I can relate to what you said as I don't feel depressed, but I don't feel all that good either. sometimes that feeling nothing follows me a lot. But then I am not sure if that "feeling nothing" is safety for me. Guess we could spend a lifetime on mental health..

oo geesh that did not sound right what I wrote that I lie. I was honest answering the questions on the quiz. I am just not honest to myself in regards to how I feel or what is really going on with my life. Just the head stuff I tend to deny and say all is well. I have never carried my feelings on my sleeve. Always hid them well. So I don't always know exactly how I feel. I will work on being more honest with my feelings.

my therapist gets me to fill out similar questionnaires every 6 sessions or so, so we can track my mood together. even though i have been feeling awesome compared to a few months back, i still fall into the "very higly depressed" category. this is interesting to me, because i didn't think things could get much better. but i am excited to see how much more things progress, and my T (and pdoc) are helping me get there.

the mood tracker seems pretty comprehensive. one thing i would like would be a "subjective" rating option, e.g., out of 10. today i would score myself a 6 (which is pretty good for me), even though the mood tracker says i'm still really depressed.

How do you get the results of any quiz to show up after you've taken it? Like, I took this particular quiz, and I saw it, saved it and went to do something else. Well, I wanted to go back and look, and I couldn't find the link to do so. I had to click back until I reached the page.

Go to: your profile, then go to the bottom of your control panel, you will see your quizzes.

When ever I go to log in to use the mood tracker, it does not log me in. Is this my fault?

Thanks,

Roman

i think the mood tracker must be broken. ive been using it almost daily for about a month now and no matter how i feel on a given day or what combination of answers i put in anxiety is always well over the 30 mark. so either its broken or i am.
honestly though im wondering if there is any or any realistic combination of answers that comes out as 'no legitimate concerns'??? or at least no anxiety! has anyone done a quiz that comes out with no anxiety?? interested to get a general view on this.
thank you.
