I will only say that i am very disappointed in the lack of thorough consideration to what is as offensive to the non religious. Religion is given far too much defference.

And guess what else... for those of us recovering from religious abuse, the very confrontation of the beliefs by which we grew up judged, condemned to hell, etc, is as triggering and destructive as someone promoting alcohol use to an alcoholic, or smacking children to child abuse survivors, or bigamy to monogamists, whatever. Why must religion be given greater lee way, which it is? It's not right. looks like that's how it is though. But it's wrong. Especially here.

Instead of looking at it as religion , why not say we believe in as spiritual
I have faith in myself and a higher spiritual power what ever it may be Angie

Because we can't protect people against every possible kind of trigger that may be out there in the world. What about a person who was abused by their father and can't stand to see people talking about their dads? What a person who was abused by a brother or best friend, can we not talk about family or friends??
I can't hope to have all the answers for every possible issue or trigger that exists in this world. What I'm talking about is tolerence and in this specific instance, someone was being intolerant of others' views. Since this is first and foremost a support community, that's not something that's going to sit well for very long. Sorry, but I think that's about enough on this. It seems the online world often overemphasizes differences that make little difference in the real world. I don't think any less of a friend who is religious (or an atheist) just because of their religious beliefs. I think if we define people solely by a single characteristic, we're doing everyone a great disservice in overgeneralizing. DocJohn
