I second the rumpus room idea. I get so frustrated, when i feel like everything i write triggers people. I just get mad and start hating people for being oversensitive Suggestions for Change

And I agree about the general forum.. I'm probably guilty of posting stuff there, that could be in a different forum. But I think that happens in other forums too. Like i've come across a very describing SI post in the depression forum, where I didn't expect stuff like that to be (since SI has it's own forum). I didn't complain to a mod cuz i don't want to rat on people...

Along the lines of having a forum for legal issues, how about links to government or other legal sites, where people can go for help, info, etc.?

I second that Septembermorn... I was gone for a week and came back to 8 pages in General alone! Many of them, admittedly by their own subject lines, belong in a different forum. sigh. I no longer fight an unwinable battle though. Let them have their way. I, too, shall leave when it becomes as all the other sites.

Many of the comments here are already provided for, and I wish members would look around the site to see that DocJohn has already provided! I don't always remember, so I have to peek and poke once in a while. You could too.

I would like to be able to select a default Subject Line Smiley that, unless I change it in post, it will be the one displayed by my response. (Like the yellowpages or white paper shows for the site.)

To elaborate on the teen forum I still think that is a good idea. Just a place for teens to talk. I mean, the "adults" would still be able to view the posts and provide suuport if needed and I also think its a good idea to see what teens are talking about and perhaps help me better relate to my own children. Thanks for allowing this thread. It's cool.

PS. More smilys Suggestions for Change

Where you can send it out to more than one person at a time... rather than cut and paste or retyping... you can either have a set group that you send to or you can use commas between names and all receive it at the same time.

I love all these suggestions!!

I think the rumpus room and the teen room are really great ideas. The rumpus room goes a long with what i was saying about having a warning before a thread, so if you know you are triggered, you don't read it. That would give people more freedom.

I tend to post primarily in general because it's easier for me then going to all the other forums. But then I mostly post about general things, haha.

I think the options of having larger emoticons in chat would be nice, but there should also be an option in settings where we can turn them on or keep them small. I get distracted in posts when there is an abundancy of emoticons, and chat gets confusing enough sometimes, that the small icons are nice, at least for me. So if there was a setting where you could keep them small, everyone could stay happy.

The suggestions about how to reach a mod are great too. And I'd like to say again that more mods would be helpful, so that the handful we have right now don't have to bear the brunt of it all.

I just love this thread!

Rayna

i am going to say I have asked for my modertorship back.. It is in Doc Johns hands if he gives it back to me or not..

I do not know if this will upset others by me posting this to this theard or nto, but I think this could be a good change being I was a mod before and I think I was a good mod, and could be a good asseset to the coumminty again.

If ALL mods have at least a temporary "holding" privilege of a post in ALL forums, that might alleviate some of the angst that arises from time to time.

Perhaps those ppl who think being a MOD is an easy job, should be a MOD for say 1 week so they can see how hard it really is.
I'am not looking for this job, so count me out.

Now that's an idea! Give out "temporary mod for a day" passes... maybe getting the other side of it would help us... but I perceive that those who can't do the job won't realize it... (I'm not looking for it either.)

Haha, does anyone think being a mod would be easy? I sure don't! I think they have one of the toughest jobs here, the toughest being John and Ozzie!

Can't people take turns to be a mondertor or get an appilcationship to fill in first to become one. It's nice to have people there to make sure no messages get posted that are known as wrong. Yet there is proberly more to it then I know. I know I'm only young yet when I'm older and still using this forum I might like to become a mondertor really need to think about it, yet I don't think I'm that wise enough to become one at this age. But I do want to make sure that everyone else feels safe here! If you really want it back try talking to the man Doc john by PM or if you can't reach him then try Ozzie. It's not the end of the world hun. You need to make sure you can do the best with or with out a mondertorship here. Feel free to Pm me if you want. I don't think its stupid or anything wanting something back is normal but maybe it's better t get on with it. Keep up the good posts!!! {{{{{{LadyDragus }}}}}}

Hi folks, thanks again for the suggestions... This thread is for suggestions only, not for criticism of others' ideas or suggestions. You can add to or make changes to other suggestions, but leave the naysaying at the door! Suggestions for Change

I'm going to keep this thread open for another few days or so, but we seem to have heard almost everyone who has wanted to add their two cents here. I've also heard from some people privately, which I thank you for.

All ideas will be considered! Thank you!!

DocJohn
