One can always choose to ignore things and that can help many issues...In my puppy classes I was told to walk AWAY from the dog when he acts up and thus not reward his behavior. So when he junps and bites and stuff..we have to just leave the area.,..be it the backyard or the room we are in....That does help more than I can say...Anyone else have a pet ?

I think burying issues with new threads is a good way to ignore too! Dogs are so much easier to train, don't you think?

I just met my mom's new pet last week. Her husband was given a pug for a father's day gift. Now I can understand why so many people have them, especially if you can't be as active as you used to be. She follows you everywhere and is a nonstop cuddler. My daughter put scrunchies on her ears and she looked hilarious. Wish I'd had a camera.

sleeps I have a service dog... when he jumps, knee him. It will only take one or two times... do it directly... otherwise they think your turning away is part of the game. My labrador will always eat... no worry there... I have to put food down and no more... but since he is now old, I don't wish his stomach to turn so he gets his daily rations in 2 meals... plus some small treats and chew chips to keep his teeth going

One of my cats celebrated her 1-year anniversary of recluse-ism today. She got spooked by a cat last year that sniffed at her through the screen door, and she's been hiding out ever since. She managed to walk all the way to the bottom of the stairs yesterday, stepped on the wood floor, stretched her neck to look by the porch, and then took off upstairs again. Vet said she needs to be on anxiety meds.

I have a puppy and I took her to doggie training. The first thing is when you issue a command and they do not listen, I was told, and still currently tell Gracie "No" in a deep whispy voice so she not only hears the word NO but it also catches her attention. Gracie is 8 months old and a small puppy and she would nip alot and it was hard to break her of that habit. At the doggie training class they have this stuff called "Sour Apple Spray". You are supposed to command the dog to stop biting, if they do not listen say no, Command again, if they do not listen tell them NO, command for the third time and if they continue to do it, you are to spray it in their mouth and say NO at the same time.

There are lots of things they taught me me and Gracie. She is very well behaved. Well, except when its time for Night Night Pee Pee. She doesnt like to come inside and she will run around the yard and I can not catch her. She is tiny so she is fast. When I finally catch her I tell her NO and usually she looks ashamed.

JMO, My trainer told me say the word ONCE whatever you want him to do and then move him into that position ...no saying it a lot..My boy is VERY mouthy and has drawn blood we did the squirting....the knee, the yelling........he is a lot better but still drives me nuts with all this...He mostly listens to me but is also kind of aggressive like he thinks everthing is a joke...sometimes I dont help cause...I lol....yikes...He bit the vet trimming his nails and is well, um a problem child..when I get the cash I may take him to see a doggy shrink...seriously....I am off and on giving him Benadryl for allergies and like how mellow he is on it Sky but...he cannot live on drugs...or I would leave him on them hehe...i WONDER IF allerguies can make him act up

Oh. OK. Be patient. Pups dont realize how rough they are biting. I know its annoying. Beleive me I know. Gracie acts likes I need to make her a plate when dinner is ready. She will sit there and beg and cry and squeal. She is such a little piggy.

Speaking of dogs… lol….. Big Bear, my German Shepherd would get a tad feisty at times. Sometimes he would bite, but only when we were playing rough. And his playful bites would hurt…. Not sure how my oldest son did this, but he taught Big Bear, when we say ouch, to kiss us.. So, we would be playing and Bear would get too rough, all we had to do was say “ouch” and we’d get big doggie kisses on our cheeks…

I'm not sure but you might try the PHOTO button in the upper right corner, there's a whole gallery there.
