ShadowWriter, beating yourself up does not help. One way or another, your son will have to encounter the challenges he now is facing. You did not give up. You loved your boy so much you are willing to go through this hell.

Keep the faith.
Thanks for this!

I agree with TheByzantine. You loved your son enough to get him the help he really needs and deserves. Try not to be so hard on yourself.

I read your words and I try... I really try to deal with this in a constructive way. My logical mind is a bit switched off at the moment... Although my brain also knows his pain and the reasons as to why this hurts so bad. I do the things needed to help him from a distance and we drive to see him and he comes home for very short visits... but my heart is crying... bleeding.
He NEEDS to feel better... then hopefully I'll feel a bit better too.
Now I feel the exhaustion after years upon years of struggling along.

Thank you for listening to my cries... I just can't keep it inside any longer.

I hear you

Quietly l hear you
As you try to hide your pain
Broken into pieces
Wishing he could remain

The love that only a mom could know
The pain locked deep inside
Feeling that you failed him
No where left to hide.

Thoughts spinning wildly
Feeling what more should l have done
The reality and the logic
Wishing they just wouldnt come

You are a special woman
And all the world can see
A mom who loves a boy so much
And always fulfilled his needs

So now my friend
Let me just say
A mom like you
Would make my day.

So each time that the doubts set in
You know that l am here
To sit a while and let you see
There is a way beyond this fear.

I know its hard and hurts so much
I pray each single day
That soon you will both begin
To see the sunlight of this day.

Love you my friend, sorry l wasnt around last night for you, remember that l care

I don't find words to describe the high value your support holds, M. You've carried me through many tears... many moments of despair... I feel beaten to the ground and then you always come running to grab a hold of my hands to lift me up - back on my feet - to walk again. Your ears have listened patiently to my cries... my words of doubt in times when energy has been so low. Even in your own misery - you've been there for me. Thank you, my dearest friend!
Thanks for this!
