Yo!
Just curious, does anybody experience stronger emotions at night,or is it just me? Ex. I do something borderline dangerous during the day(i go on the rooftop of a very high building),during the morning i feel no fear or that something might happen, but during the night i regret doing that and feel that something might have happened. Or for example lets say i like a girl, just like.During the night it becomes almost love,i might text her something that i would regret in the morning and have no idea why i did that. Maybe that's just me though. |

I find that, in general, my symptoms are stronger at night when I am tired.

I feel more irritable, depressed, anxious, paranoid and hopeless at night. Partly I think because of boredom, but also because I feel tomorrow is going to be the same lousy routine and another opportunity for disaster.

I think its good you recognize your feelings and thoughts are more intense when you're trying to sleep. Me too. I kind of think its because while you're tired its harder to be rational. Specifically what I mean is its more difficult to think logically. Plus you're really, really tired. So the combination of wanting to sleep and the desire to convince oneself what one is thinking and/or feeling is much harder to accomplish.

I'm more vulnerable at night too.

My depression is worse during the morning and this is when the irritability is already beginning to build. At about noon is when the restlessness and anxiety is thrust upon me; often contributed to by the state of the weather. In the evening I am more rueful of the day. Night is when I reflect upon my ills to the point it may be disturbing. I will go to bed awfully early (8pm) just to rid myself of the negativity.

When I'm imbalanced, my bipolar symptoms are greater starting around 4pm. This may also have to do with alcoholism. I used alcohol to medicate the evenings.

at night, their are less distractions
so during the day you have cars on the road, people moving about, birds singing, the light, and night you have none of that- making it easier to just spiral downwards it's a theory i've had forever |

I find when I'm tired and laying in bed my mind goes bonkers. I usually distract it with a guided meditation or a fantasy of some sort.

I feel like the me at 2 am is the real me though, vulnerable, open and caring, and that the me during the day has a lot of layers or filters on it(though, colder, careless).Maybe it's because my brain is trying to protect me from probable threats during the day, while at night I feel safe enough.I feel like every problem I have is somehow connected to eachother and that it's all a big maze I need to solve in order to get to the root and fix them.Or maybe some things like the "emotional-at-night thingy" are just meant to be there for our own safety.
