No matter how hard I try or stop thinking. I always like going on my computer mainly the internet. I say to myself just a few minutes turns out to be a few more hours. Day and night staring straihgt into a comuter screen. Can't be healthy. I do try to get away from it oly suceed a half way past mark. Nothing else in return. I don't mean to flood the forums, I do my best not to indeed please try to understand that it is so hard for me. To control my typing sometimes it's goes fast. I've nearly replied to everyone pictures in the gallery only to try and stop myself from posting to much. I've been PMing other members to have a friendly chat. All though I don't feel so safe going into a chat room anymore. long story.... I've tried to reply with helpful and thoughtful posts to others. I've tried to type so long that a post is worth while reading. Still nothing can stop be from using the internet. I dunno where to stick this post, so please excuse if I stick it in General for now. Please if anyone has got any got advice... thank you. But the thing is I think it's taking over me maybe my life. I don't want to be someone sitting at a computer the rest of my life on my butt. Help me please, I'm not making any sense. I don't think it could be OCD. But I'm definitly stuck here. I'm addicted to the internet!

miss a, if this is a concern for you then you need to look at the issue. only you can control this, so you need to figure out what you're going to do and then begin to work on it. also, you might want to break up the pattern while on the net to help. play games, etc.

I have found the internet a great sorce for research. I must admit I spend hours on it too. When I was taking classes in college, I would use it to expand on the information I was learning. When my mother was dx'ed with cancer, I did weeks & weeks of research so that I could be informed on all aspects of it even if she didn't want to know anything about it. After her surgery, I found people who helped me understand & find places for help (even though it was too late). I also use it to find out more about some health conditions for myself. I also use it to learn more about my dressage riding techniques...even if it isn't riding, the techniques are in my head to try when I am on my horse. I must also admit that I do shopping over the internet....horse equiptment, cloths, etc. Sometimes it is just window shopping when I get boared. I also do journaling not on the internet but keeping my own documents.

The internet is very useful & is so full of knowledge. There is something on almost any subject you could imagine. It is not healthy to spend most of your day on the internet. I have found at times I needed the knowledge so badly that I would get caught up in it, but limiting your time to maybe an hour of social internet in the morning or after school would probably be the best thing for you. If you are using it for research....then spend the needed time to do your research but don't get sidetracked with the social.

Like KD said, only you can control your usage unless you have your parents take over the control.
