When I try to create - and it's getting worse all the time - I get frustrated, angry and inevitably give up because it's easier than staring at a blank page. If someone sees my art work, poetry, or fictional work - or advertisements for that matter, I wrote commercials for a radio station years ago - I am told I have talent. But I look at what they are looking at and wonder where I can get ahold of whatever they're smokin', 'cause I'd really like some of that!

I am not talkin' writters block, here. Unless writters block is often accompanied by rage, nausea, vertigo, etc.

The more important the idea/project is to me, the worse these symptoms. I'd given up on ever creating anything any more, but my fiancee wants me to design her wedding dress. And, like a dummy, I said I would.

Now what the heck do I do? Any ideas?

If anyone is interested, I put 3 of my poems from years ago in the creative corner. If you take a look, get back to me.

You sound like me. I do character sketches for websites. I bet I have worked on this one peticular sketch for weeks now it usually only takes me 5 days for one project. I keep ripping them up and throwing them away. I'm under alot of stress right mabye thats why. I hope someone has more suggestions.

Could it be that you are psyching yourself out when sitting down to do the project? Maybe it is on the subconsciene level? You could try positive affirmations when you sit down to do a project. Sit there with your eyes closed for a few minutes and say positive things about yourself and concentrate on rythemic breathing. It helps me anyway when I sit down to write.

perhaps asking yourself where you learnt to feel this way would help you find the answers?
