I have been designing a website that is about me and my interests. I would like to share it, but is that against the rules? I don't want to cause any problems here.

I think it is OK. I have a link to my website as part of my signature.
I think the rule against other websites is against so called "competing" websites. Sometimes in forums people from other forums will come and post links to their forum... that is usually considered rude in web etiquette. Anything that promotes healing and understanding to the members here should be OK, and I think that includes things that show the personalities of our members here. If I am wrong about this, one of the mods will chime in I'm sure...

Inappropriate Content This is, first and foremost, a self-help support community. That means if your message (post or PM) isn't about offering support to another person or asking for it, it's potentially not appropriate for our community. Specifically prohibited from our community: * Advertisements of any sort * Announcements of one's own Web site, new resource, or book * Announcements for research projects * Soliciting others to join another online community * Flames or messages meant to intimidate or harass others * Threatening or profane messages * Messages discussing a private message (PM) from others, including all administrative issues * Messages containing suicidal threats or suicidal actions * Messages containing or condoning illegal acts * Limit your direct discussion of politics and religion, as people usually hold pretty strong opinions about these topics * Triggering material without the use of the Trigger Icon * Anything that violates the Terms of Use for this site

Just for info ... community guidelines listing. not sure how strong this is held to though...

I still think it is OK SpazzKatt...
I think the " Announcements of one's own Web site, new resource, or book" is intended against people posting to advertise or with the intent of drawing people away from this website... i.e. people posting an "alternative" to PsychCentral forums... that's just bad net etiquette and there is a disclaimer against that in most web forums that I know of. I think there is no harm in posting a link to your personal website, I'm assuming you are not blasting PC there ![]() Again, if I'm wrong in my interpretation one of the mods will let us know.

We had several members post links to websites in the past. I think it's ok to do so.
However, I do think it's worth cautioning about broadcasting personal information, such as last name, birth date, city, phone number, etc.
