Greetings,
I have posted here a few times this year.
I was hosptitalized last year for the first time. My psych thought I was bipolar-but later changed my diagnosis to mood disorder nos.
I am no where near where I was last year. He has started me on lamicatal and weaning me off Seroquel.
So-here is the accountablitly part. For the past month and a half, I am depressed or angry/on edge. I don't get that good feeling anymore-that's been gone. I think I can manage my emotions better now on my own without meds. So I have taken my seraqual down farther, but am not increasing the Lamictal-this for two reasons-one to see if I truly can now manage my emotions better and two-so I can get a little bit of that good feeling back-I like the confidence I get.
I am starting a new job and need it. I was keeping daily journal that was given to me by my psych for monitoring moods etc. I am starting my own one so I can monitor myself on my meds as I am truly taking them and as I truly am managing my moods/emotions. So-I would like to be able to come on this site and be honest in how I am doing and if I indeed will be able to manage my moods. I hope that is alright...here I go....

hi noneedtoknow - welcome to PC and yes you can share your moods / daily progress here. Is your doctor aware of you lessening the meds? There's also a simple daily mood tracker here at PC DailyMood but you can also elaborate here as well. Best of luck.

Thanks for responding Lynn
No, I am not telling my doctor because everytime I talk about doing it, he states he doesn't think I am quite ready yet " I think you would do better to stay on your medications and have that extra support"
Yah, well, it's time for me to stand on my own-or at least see if I can-I understand He would like to see me more stable for a longer period-but I don't want to stay in this perpetual depressed.angry state and would like a little more of "I feel good/confident again. So, no I am not telling him at this time. anyway, thanks for the support Lynn.
Thanks for this!

Hiya,

I can certainly understand not telling your doc when he/she seems to be pushing meds. Just be extra cautious in what you're doing and the effect it has on you. I use moodtracker.com and it keeps track of the medications I've taken for the day, the amount of time I've slept and my mood. it also has the ability to track bipolar swings.

keep coming here and being honest.

Love and hugs,
Tara

i wish you well,NNTK. i tried this once and took a horrible nose dive. glad you are keeping a mood tracker. it will indicate if your doing this is going in the right direction. i admire your spirit, but just be cautious.
welcome to pc. yes, posting is part of our benefit.

Hey Welcome to PC and I hope this helps you.
Be very careful with lessening the Seroquel-
my dr is taking me off of that as well, and I lowered my dosage a little faster than she told me and I felt it, and not in a good way! I do think coming off the Seroquel has been a good idea, just at least 2-3 weeks between lowering dosage seems to work better.
As long as you are honest with yourself about your moods and will tell your dr if you aren't feeling well - I think that's the most important thing.
Good luck!
