For maybe the first time in my life, i feel discomfort just existing.

It's not enough for me to fix myself, I feel i have to fix the rest of humanity as well, and that is impossible. So instead I just watch and hope things will get better . . .

I can lose weight and get a job, but i can't stop unfair social trends, some of which aren't even recognized.

Every time i'm on the internet i'm avoiding reading about these kinds of things, because they just make me feel like trash, yet i also know i'm just a click or two away from reading a new set of articles or some more youtube videos which will fuel my obsession even more.

I'm also aware these things have no relevance to my own life and maybe i should just focus on what's in front of me and get a job, get some excercise, etc.

But of course it's hard to stop the thoughts.

I think when you get to the point where you're feeling discomfort in existence, it's a "brain signal" to focus more on what is in front of you, your task at hand - things YOU need to accomplish in life.

In the outside world you can only do what you can, where you can, and when you can. In order to be of any benefit or assistance with resolving unfair social trends, you'll need to be balanced, whole and solid with your own life. You are important too.

I think Kathy is right. We need to know where our power lies, and fixing the world is one person at a time attending to their own accomplishments and making their lives better.
An impossible role would be thinking that we can fix others. Fixing ourselves is within
all our grasp. We all see the disparity in fairness and what we ideally would like in our society, but other than minor roles in social strategies groups; we would be in over our heads This is not a just world, and that is a concept we all must accept and do what little we can to make our personal surroundings a more loving and kind capsule in the massive sea of unrest that goes on within the media news and the world in general. Place your worries within the realm of reality of what is doable.
hugs, bj
