Wish I had some advice, but I can't sleep either. It sucks, doesn't it? I think I'm going to try TV.... maybe I'll find some boring infomercial to put me to sleep.

I know how difficult it is to sleep sometimes. Hang in there. It will eventually come!

My T suggested getting a relaxing tape. I ended up checking out a lullabye tape to listen to. Sometimes, it gives my mind something to think about instead of life's worries. She also suggested finding something else to do for awhile. I haven't tried that much except for one night. I ended up reading a little of a book in the middle of the night. She mentioned taping yourself saying a relaxation technique. If you have a soothing place that you go to in your mind, taping a description of it to help you focus on it can help. I think she had other ideas. So, I know what you mean when you talk about having trouble sleeping. I hope it doesn't last for very long for you.

Try a little at home EMDR - just take you fist and gentle clinch them together.... then starting with the LEFT fist squeeze it then release - then repeat with the RIGHT fist... alternate back and forth, from LEFT to RIGHT, slowly until sleep comes.... usually in 10 - 15 minutes.

sleeeepppp?!?!?!?!

I couldn't sleep 3 days straight this past week. Some of the aids to sleep that I found around the net were:

1. Warm bath
2. Drinking a "milky" drink
3. Yoga
4. Relaxation tapes - I have one my grad school prof recommended called Spectrum Suite by Steven Halpern. That one is 7 notes that are combined in different ways. In the insert Mr. Halpern said the each note represents a different color and a different part of the body. He has also made tapes/CDs called Inner Peace and Soundwave 2000

Personally I lay in bed listening to radio talk shows, but they have to be selected carefully or else I wake up in a panic due to all the "stuff" going on in the world.

Good luck sleeeepppp?!?!?!?!
