How many people feel like the world is like a spy glass on one/you all the time.
Even in moments of total isolation and solitude, does it feel like one/you are being watched.

not so much - I live on 80 acre farm so someone would really have to go out of their way to watch me excluding my internet activity - I can't imagine they would want to know what I am watching on Netflix.

No I don't feel anyone's watching me, although I used to hate being stared at when I was teenager.

thanks yoda. I live in a darn city where there is a spy camera on every corner.
Also, I am typical of the T.V/Movie generation soooooo I would not be surprised to find in my laptop camera and mic, a two way thing going on.

My friends (some), lol, check this out, they cover up the camera and mic on their lap tops with tape...LOL.

I say to them 'why', they say 'you never know who's listening'. I say...'what have you got worth listening to that we all dont have'..lol.

I find it funny.

hello lynn, i still dont like to be stared at in the city.....sometimes i get angry and just say (if they are looking for more than a few seconds)...'take a picture, it will last longer'.

They look away then.

Yes, it does, a lot. Especially on the bus.
Often in London, people do stare. It's horrible.
But also, I project out my internal critic, which is pretty nasty too.
Plus bullying emotional flashbacks.

I hope not, but it seems the more sophisticated technology is, the more you're spied on. Being a private person, I don't understand the appeal of putting one's personal life on stuff like Facebook. Even my cable box tracks what I watch, what I record, when I mute TV, etc. according to this article I read about technology "watching" you.

Smart phones, shopping sites, etc. are "smart" enough to track your movements, like what you look at, what you buy, etc.

Here, there are a lot of cameras: At busy intersections, in a lot of stores, and now even in my building. They say it's for security, but I think it's to spy on people.

Also, I get stared at a lot and attract CREEPY men. It's rude to stare at people.

In short, I don't like it. I'm a private person and don't think anyone needs to know what I view, buy, etc. It comes down to making money: Advertisers want to target you based on your behavior, in most cases.

Yes, it's characteristic of the hell that my social anxiety creates for me each day. And now I feel it's worse than it has been in a long time.

I don't feel like I'm being watched, but I do feel like someone is going to "get" me! Like if I'm outside in the dark I feel like someone or something is going to run up behind me and attack!

hey bunnywithin check this out..

...I learned this thing called the 'Ninja Mind Cloud' years ago when I was in my early 20's. Its when one/you are walking down the street and then we see someone we don't want to talk to. In my head I will switch on my 'Ninja Mind Cloud', then I become invisable.. It's like harry potter's cloak..

It really works.

I don't think people are watching me in a paranoid type of way....like they're out to get me, but I do believe that there are spy satellites that, although not focused on me, probably collect information/pictures randomly. I don't have any hard evidence, but it wouldn't surprise me if the US Govt or CIA had some ways of monitoring the American people.....I mean seriously, GPS...yeah Hello!! LOL!!

Anyway...every once in a while when I'm experiencing an anxiety attack, or my PTSD is amped up, I worry that certain family members are keeping tabs on me and trying to spy on me, but I'm not certain that's an accurate perception....even though it feels convincing.

I have to say guys this post/thread was not meant to promote paronoia.

I am not a believer in the 'constantly being watched' generation.
I have nothing to interesting to know, that is not already known by all already.
I do know many though whom believe that their every move is is being watched......I ask are they 'terrorists'...they say 'no'.
Then 'I' say you have nothing to worry about.

It is true that all infomation is stored somewhere, but to trawl through it all would take a life time of all humans on earth today.

Key words are used..I said 'Terrorism'...that may trigger a program that picks up on this post. But upon inspection it is revealed to be innocent.

Please who think they are being watched all the time (unless you having an affair or engaging in deubious engagements), don't worry. This is more to do with my feeling of greater powers not of this (reality/earth/concious).

My watcher is my creator I guess, and I am not afraid of the architect.

Thanks for this!

Not when I'm alone, but whenever there's someone. even if I know I probably dont mean a **** to them, I feel like everyone is watching and judging me and thinking stuff about me and laughing at me constantly.
Has anyone watched the anime 'Welcome to the NHK'... I usually don't watch anime but I think it portrayed social anxiety of this sort nicely

I felt like that, which was hell for someone who likes privacy. I realise that all of it was part of my mental illness, and it was awful, even today I have to remind myself - no you are not being watched, its your mh problems - thats how I feel about it.

I'm glad I read that before I posted what I had already written. I hope your creator watches over and protects the naive and the innocent

I sometimes make a joke about Homeland Security skulking around. That said, if the powers given to government agencies in the Patriot Act keep getting expanded, who knows how far the undercovers will go in their surveillance?

Cheney said not long after 9/11: "It will be necessary for us to be a nation of men, and not laws. (Toss the Constitution, become king and go with Nixon: "When the President does it, that means that it's not illegal.")"

And: "We also have to work, though, sort of the dark side, if you will. We've got to spend time in the shadows in the intelligence world. A lot of what needs to be done here will have to be done quietly, without any discussion, using sources and methods that are available to our intelligence agencies, if we're going to be successful. That's the world these folks operate in, and so it's going to be vital for us to use any means at our disposal, basically, to achieve our objective."

Who knew, the dark side and shadows also are located domestically and the activities of the undercovers would still be ongoing? Fourth Amendment be damned.

Thanks for this!

Yes. I feel like people are watching me all the time, even when I'm alone. When I'm with people they stare at me, sometimes I feel followed. At home I feel like they can still see me. Particularly through the mirrors.
When I feel that they cant see me, I am invisible. People just dont see me. I like it when I am invisible. I feel safe.

I think we can be tracked/watched but not so many are; our governments have the capability but lack the organization to do a good job of it; if we have trouble with potential terrorists at specific places like airports, the average citizen doesn't have much to worry about I don't think. But looking for needles in haystacks does tend to make the haystack feel a little needled? :-)

One time when I was a teenager some teenage girls were stalking me and I could kinda tell they were following me around except I didn't want to accuse them of anything just in case they weren't. In the end they came up to me and told me how they were following me.

But yeah, in the end I'm not worth watching really.
