So if any of you have read a post by me then you are probably fully aware I can’t spell or string a sentence along. But things are a little worse sometimes I write the wrong words. In my head I know what I want to say and it doesn’t matter how many time I try to reread something. I will still read it as how I thought of it in my head, instead of what’s actually written down on paper or what I have actually typed. Sometimes I mistake spelling things by their meaning if that makes sense like the words sounds the same but one spelling means one thing and I normally get it confused with something that means something completely different. However my main problem is writing words that have no connection when I didn’t even mean to write anything near that word in first place. Is this because I am just dumb and not well educated or is this something to do with other things I am experiencing and that’s then causing my concentration to go or another side effect.

Examples
What I actually wrote .............. What I really meant to write in first place
Can .............. change
Sense.............. scene
My ...................you
Things............... this
It........................ I
Many................ may be
Alone................ along
It....................... this

There are many more times I have done this but you can see how it completely changes a sentence and meaning of something but I can’t stop myself or realize I have done this sometimes. There are many other wrong words I hvae written but I don't really want to have to reread everything I have typed. Also considering most of the time these are things I have typed on my computer were the letters are no way near to one another to just change a word by a typo. Well I could hardly pretend I don't do this as I am sure if you had read anything I have posted you were like what an earth is this person on about. I am english, hopless one though. Anyone know why I do this apart from being dumb.

You're not dumb. Has anyone ever suggested a form of aphasia to you? You could definitely discuss your difficulty with someone, and probably learn some coping mechanisms.
Thanks for this!

What you have posted is very well written and clear, so I dont know why you think you are dumb. And that is what spell check is for. My sister is bad in this dept. and always has me write things for her. There are always ways to overcome.

I do that too actually even with numbers it makes me wonder if i have more than one thing going on in my head.

Interestingly enough I do that with reading as well like at work it will ask for a quantity of 10 but at first I will read some off the wall number. Do it with words too. I call it delayed reading or something like that. However, I wonder where the original number or word I first read came from.

Thank You for your reply however I don't think it is a form of aphasia.

Thank you for your reply. I am sorry you get this as well. It's just like when you are doing something you don't fully take it in or realize but then soometime later either someone will point it out or you sudden see it. I know that feeling how could you not have seen it to begin with. I get anxiety so I wonder wheather it was like my mind was so far caught up with that. Then the anxiety may be lowered my consetration or clouded what I was doing. Just a thought. Or thats what I just told myself for time being. Sorry I have no answer for you.

I would go to a neurologist, get tested, make sure it is not a neurological problem; my mother had aphasia and that's the first thing I thought of too.

It could be a form of dysgraphia: http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/d...dysgraphia.htm

Thank You for your reply and link. I don't think it's anything that bad but it is worse or I find myself doing this more when my emotions and anxiety get to much. However at those times I can't really think straight anyway. It's just strange how my writting seems to slip at same time. I never have been that good at spelling but I did get better at it and understand it more in high school but it's like sometimes I go back to being dumber then before.
