I've always been kinda socially awkward but in the last 4 years it has become a rather extreme social phobia. In the last 2 years alone I have gained almost 60 pounds due too stress. My parents are constantly putting me down and making me feel like crap. I'm the oldest of my 2 other siblings and I know that my parents see me as a failure. It has suddenly dawned on me that I'm graduating in just one month and I have no idea what I want to do with my life. My parents want me out of the house as soon as possible. I'm so scared about my future that I've started considering suicide. Some of my relatives thought I should join the military but now I'm way too overweight and I don't think I'd be able to handle the stress of the military anyway. Please can someone tell me what I should do? Was anyone else in a similar situation?

Hi Madoreck!
I guess that I know pretty well how you're feeling. I'm a high school student as well, graduating this spring but so insecure about my future. Before I knew what I want. Graduating is a fine thing and I should be happy and relieved, but I can't help my anxiety when I'm not seeing any future for me. Those suicidal thoughts are familiar here as well. I'm so sorry for your situation. And sorry that I don't know what to say to help you! If I still could do something for you, feel free to tell me! All the best! ![]()

Hello and Welcome to PC
![]() I know exactly how you feel. I've graduated from high school 4 years ago and still have no idea what to do with my life. Aside from the advice others already gave you, another thing you can consider is a gap year of some kind before you start college/work. There are many possibilities if you'd like to spend some time abroad and help others or do something meaningful while you take a break from your regular life. ![]()

First off congrats on making it to graduation! I'm only a freshmen and I know how hard high school is already. I heard high school is more stressful than college. If you want to take a break before college to get control of your life, thats perfectly fine. Going to college a year late isnt a big step back. If not, then dont focus on too much at once. Start off with easy courses, have some friends help you through the hard times, get a loan from the bank to pay off your college tuition, go easy on yourself. Just because you'll be an official adult doesnt mean you have to run into stuff right away
