I called the mental health clinic I visited last week for my intake appointment. During the appointment they said they needed a notarized statement from a person who is not related to me to say I am not employed.

Well I have no friends, or even acquaintances. I just moved here, I know nobody. All I have is my crackhead mom, 17 year old sister, and my husband....and their not allowed to be the signers.

Well I called trying to explain that instead of the notarized statement, I had a signed statement from my housing manager. It's sort of notarized, it has the complex logo on it. The receptionists got very ****** with me. They were extremely rude, and instead of being understanding of my situation they said I had to have it or I would be billed.

I'm so frustrated right now I don't know what to do. I can't believe these people are working in the mental health field......they were straight up assholes to me....I feel like crying.

When I was in mid sentence, one woman said hold on hold on....real loud in my ear, then hung up on me!!

I don't know what to do..... Rude people at the clinic Rude people at the clinic

Call them back and ask to speak with a supervisor and tell them what happened and the rudeness. Also, you can take the statement from your landlord and have it copied and then notorized as a true copy of the original, that might fool them. Lastly, do the kids get state health insurance? If so anything from them would be good.

wisewomans advice sounds good. I have no advice, just to say, sorry you had to deal with that.

Wow Des, I am so sorry this happened to you. I have had similiar experiences, both with mental health people as well as in the medical field. You would think that people in this line of work would be compassionate, and it's a shame that they get away with this type of behavior.

I agree with Wisewoman, I would call back and ask to speak to their supervisor. Talking to someone higher up just may work. I wish you the best and hope those people get what's coming to them!

Hugs To You,
Sujin

I've never heard of them doing that, but alas, I am from smalltown, USA, where they don't require notarization of too many things.

Sorry you had to put up with those jerks!
