I'm certain somebody is coming into my house. Things keep moving or getting lost and I can feel bugs on my skin. Think I need to change the locks.

Changing the locks might give you some reassurance. I've had a lot of bugs lately but I think they are just coming in to escape the heat. They aren't welcome but there isn't much I can do about them.
I'm sorry you feel fear from being on your own. Do you fear being alone? It might be a good time to get to know yourself. If you know and trust yourself you will never be alone.
Keep posting. Hope things get better soon

I have no bugs here in this house, but in a previous house, I did have spiders coming out of the heat vents. Since I'm very arachnophobic, this was pretty traumatic. Perhaps contact an exterminator for at least an analysis. Also, if you really feel someone is coming into your residence, and moving furniture around, changing the locks might be beneficial.

I'd have a friend come and stay a couple times when you can't be there, see if they can catch anyone coming in or what they think.

There is a drought going on, so all sorts of bugs and critters are going to find there way inside to look for water and food. That's all that is going on. You might do some spraying or have an exterminator take a look. This is unfortunately just that result of the lousy hot weather we've all been having this year.

Ditto the above. Have you also checked with your pdoc? sometimes if the meds need balancing, you can get crawlie sensations on your skin. If you already have bug problems, this can really be nerve wracking. HUGGGGGGGGSSSSSSSSS!

I did. Don't want to see him again as he always wants to add or change things. I've set a security camera downstairs so will see them. Put an extra bolt on the inside door.

Sounds like you may be hallucinating. Time to call your pdoc perhaps?

That can also be a hallucination, an auditory hallucination. The fact that your partner can't see or hear them combined with you thinking that someone is actually bringing them in doesn't sound like what you are experiencing is actually real. Have you had any issues with hallucinating or delusions in the past? I know you said you don't want to see your pdoc, but perhaps he can help you with this.

Maybe you could at least consider the possibility that they aren't there. I can give you a first hand example. I've found a few fleas on me recently. I must have got them on me outside I guess because my pets never go out. After catching a few fleas on me ... now I'm thinking I feel fleas on me but when I look there's nothing there. My imagined fleas are causing me more trouble than the real fleas did.

Sorry you are feeling so bad. Anxiety can also make people feel itchy. I am a prime example of that. When I get nervous sometimes, I itch all over. That darn anxiety can come in so many, many forms. It does feel like bugs sometimes to me, and the more I focus on it the worse I get.

Pdocs do want to change things but they are for your benefit especially if you still are having symptoms and it sounds like you are.

I am not discounting what you feel about someone breaking in but we all here have been thru some of your symptoms you are having. Sometimes with depression, and anxiety we can't focus well, and tend to forget things or where we place them

Maybe just a quick call to the pdoc and a visit even though you right now are against it. We here, and myself just want you to feel better, and not so scared. Being scared is a terrible feeling. I know!

Slow deep breaths.. mind over matter. Calm your mind and try to imagine a serene, clean, bug free home. Things like that always seem to help me out just a bit, I hope it is helpful for you..
