of the subject... It's very triggering for me as it must be for other victims of sexual abuse, BUT... while we're at it... I caught an rerun of an Oprah show last night. She had a young boy who fell victim to perverts on line.

It all started with a web cam. The perverts groomed him from the age of 13 until they had him at the point of being "a porn star" on the Internet. He is now 16. He appeared on Oprah at the risk of being KILLED for coming forward.

Yet another danger for our innocent through the Internet!!

I can't imagine how hard it must be for you...it must be just awful. (You, too, Sabrina, and anyone else who is a victim)! I know that nothing I say can help, but I do hope that you can find a way to come to terms with the pain you feel.

BTW, I didn't see the Oprah thing, but they had an episode of SVU that must have been based loosely on the case you describe...it was so sadl! Having grown up in a relatively normal environment, it is hard for me to imagine what that must be like. I really feel for you all, though...I know the effects go on forever. How unfair!

i have words too, but like sabrina, cant express them today.. not right now... all i will say is it makes me sick as well... makes me angry...that is all i can say for now!!!!!!

I saw that show when it first aired. I also saw that boy on other shows. I was surprised when I heard some people state they weren't sure he was really a victim, since he put his own photos on the Internet, and because he got paid for it. But not everyone feels that way.

His mother should have known, being a psychologist or whatever she is, not to have the computer in his bedroom. That irritated me.

What I found the most vomit-inducing, though, was that his father sold him like that. His own son!

I saw that Oprah epsiode when it aired the first time. it was horrific! I am so sorry for everyone that has been abused.
That is another reason I feel so strong about kids being online. not just here but everywhere.

Maybe we could put this in the PTSD forum? I wasn't prepared for it either.

I think I hurt people by posting my thread about Dateline and I'm sorry it resulted to this. I didn't mean to do this to any of you and I'm horribly sorry. Believe me the children come first to me as well.
