Question: any of youz guyz have service dogs?
Question: would you use a chair that looked outrageous, but, accomodated your needs? (Say, colorful plastic components.)

Wheeh !!!! Yes (((((hillbunnyb))))) colours what do you dislike about wheelchairs? what do you dislike about wheelchairs? what do you dislike about wheelchairs?

Maybe rainbow colours to accomodate everyone's tastes or those variable colour LCDs, or those customizing transfers like you can get for cars what do you dislike about wheelchairs?

Do you think you could make the nasty exoskeleton legs coloured too ? what do you dislike about wheelchairs?

Also we have heard about an inlineskater who adapted the wheels to 45 degree angles or something (we aren't very mechanically oriented)so you could go up & down steps more easily, we understand you need three sets of wheels, like a trike, to manage this with a wheelchair. what do you dislike about wheelchairs? we will try to get you a better way to access this info. what do you dislike about wheelchairs?

Hi hillbunnyb

1) Don't have a service dog
2) Define "outrageous" ... manual wheelchairs (well besides mine now, it comes in one colour, titanium silver-gray because it is titanium) usually have the option of a few colours. It adds personality. So its good. But if its things with little purpose or can impair the functionality of the wheelchair, then nope. Did I even come close to answering your question?

canders, you answer, you answer, I want your free associations too!!!

sky, does your dog help manuever your chair at all?

how's about with components so when you went out you could add on for that trip: shopping, spectating, plein air painting,"hiking", whatever, but: at home be stripped down to the basics for that individual. ? get rid of the one size fits all mentality.

This dog has not been trained to pull a chair. And I won't be going into that kind of chair, but a motorized one..so the new dog will learn to heel it, and assist me and stay out of it's way lol

You can ask service dog questions at most sites like Paws with a Cause, K9 Companions, etc. They can tell you everything!

New question: are you "attached" to one chair, ie, use one chair at home at work at play? Would it be better if there was one at home and one on the go? (Not electrics) IE: does one style fit all your needs?

I'm attached to mine... I use if for everything, and the practicality of it (for me) is to only have one for everything.

I've used self wheelers and pushed wheelers what do you dislike about wheelchairs?

The travel one is so much lighter, compact, and easier to maneuver (can't do any of that anymore)... but they aren't much to rent if you plan to fly or go somewhere. This smaller one fits behind the front seat easily, the regular push kind takes up a lot of trunk space. I felt the seat support was about the same.
