Yup, I have gone and done it. I keep finding all of this cool stuff, "really for the little one you know". Found a free jumpolene on freecycle and daughter drove over the mountain with me to get it. Car washed and semi-inflated and we are ready to bring it in. Farm animals and machinery, my favorite stories. I am afraid I am regressing at a rapid pace. Can't wait to build or find a wooden Barn for uh uh, HER. just need a tree for a swing but that is not happening for at least ten more years unless you can all magically send me a big tree. For now we settle for the metal swing set. Gonna surprise her and put a tent up in the house tomorrow. I might never want to come out.

Best reason I know of to have kids--so you can be one again!

When I was signed up on a dating site, one of my requirements for my match was "must use playground equipment" and "must fly kites"! (I WAS serious)!!!

DJ

PS. I would give anything to get on the jumpolene with my daughter, but she's six hundred miles away! Turning into a child

OHHHH, you know Davey, the Jumpolene worked best with my now almost 19 year old as a cozy reading and relaxing nook. Come out and play with me? I like to swing, slide, go sledding, sking, swim, play farm, play with my pets. C'mon over!

Yes, I have been told the practice is the fun part. Don't ask me about it though as I know not of what I speak.

Do we not know what Lincoln logs are? Are we so deprived that we have not seen the little log buildings made by children for at least 50 years? My poor deprived one. C'mon, I will teach you the finer points of children's play. I have a good supply of legos, clay, tinkertoys etc. It will be fun.

I like to play too. I've read that adults need to play too. But, that just an excuse for me to have fun.

OH BOY do I ever relate to this thread.

I don't have kids, but I am DID and have littles. And I would just like to say that no matter who you are being SILLY and GOOFY and playing is SO important. I sleep with a teddy bear and a S.O. everynight, I have crayons beside the bed. I have hello kitty prints on my wall, and I don't give a hoot who cares.

playing is love <3

The Best Art, In my Humble opinion comes from children's books, illustrations. I easily live with the toys of "childhood" around me. I never had toys or a child hood except for the thumbalina doll which is llloooooooonggg gone. Playing energizes our souls.

I saw Lincoln Logs at a toy store a year or two ago...they were like $75.00 for the basic box. I could have choked! Erector Sets were evn worse!!!!

I'll throw a Frisbee anytime, anywhere, except South Dakota<g>. I have thrown Frisbees in Iowa many times.

Slinkys. The metal ones that get all tangled.

Wheel-O's. Hours of mindless fun.

Etch-A-Sketch...can't draw with those, either...love'em anyway.
