This is my first post, so I hope I put it in the right section. This all began a couple of years ago with the occasional white light floating about in my living room. After a while the lights began to have a colour usually blue. But one day all that changed. I was sat in my living room when for about a second I went blind. When my sight returned it was if I was looking through the eyes of another person. In the first instance I was in a car parked up, looking out of the window at a pharmacists. I watched 2 people leave the building before my sight once again failed and I was back in my living room. This has happened several times since and I always find myself somewhere different. With one exception I see people I do not know. I have been rather foolish and not yet spoken to my doctor. This is something I should probably rectify soon. I just wanted to find out if anyone else has experienced anything similar. If so what was the cause? I have come across people claiming to see things but they always sounded very different to my own experiences. I have no idea what is going on.

I have had this happen when I first wake up, and I'm fully awake but my eyes are still closed, and I am seeing out of another person's vision! It's never someone I know, and it's always random. I have seen some disturbing things, but usually randomness. Like looking down a street at a car pulling out of a driveway. Going into a Lowe's and looking around the front entrance. The one very vivid and highly disturbing vision I had was seeing an Arab man raping a young boy out in the desert while another boy was in the car. I remember it was an old yellow car and they were out by some rock formations in a desert setting. In another bad vision I saw a truck getting into a head-on collision, nothing deadly, but I saw it like I was the driver. The truck I was in was a big white truck being hit by a big black GMC truck. And usually after a minute or sometimes less, the scenes vanish. But I'm always awake. The only difference is I have my eyes closed. I have never told a doctor about this either. I told my pastor and he thinks it could be some sort of second sight, like actually seeing something that someone else has experienced, and that it could be paranormal. I am afraid to tell the doctor because I don't want them to think I'm crazy. I've never had it happen the way you stated, but only when I first wake up.

What you are describing sounds like a hypnogogic (or hypnopompic I can never remember which) state. It is the state where we are not quite awake but not quite asleep. The dreams we have can appear to us as we are waking up making them seem much more real than normal. I have experienced this myself but not in the extreme way you describe. For me it was a knocking sound. I thought there must be someone at the door and answered it. Only then did I realise it was 3 in the morning. I dont think my experiences are due to this state as I was fully awake for all of them. It is an interesting idea though. Thanks for sharing.

I dont think any physical problem can cause this surely? Can it?

I have just once had something like this, I was wide awake going to sleep with the landing light on, I closed my eyes, opened them to see almost touchable numbers above me, moving from one side of the room to another. Its like they were projected. White fuzzy numbers and mathmatical symbols. No matter if I shut my eyes and opened them they were there. I never found out what they were and Ive only ever told 3 people. No I wasnt asleep.

I reguarly wake and see remnants of a dream semi transparent over real life. You guys are way more vivid. Wow.

Possibly Occular Migraines? I get them. No pain, they only last 20 minutes or so

I see blue and white lights race around all the time. there are moments when my entire field of vision turns to partial static, usually the voices tap me on the feet when that happens. for me to get to view something like that I have to go into a trance state.
