Greetings. I didn't find much in a few Google searches so I thought I'd ask here.

I've been having this issue lately where it feels like my mind just won't work properly. It's hard just to explain it because I can't think of the best way. Obviously I can still function but everything feels harder. I forget the stupidest things, like shampooing my hair in the morning or putting my credit card away after using it. It's like my head isn't "screwed on straight," like my ability to think critically is impaired. I feel totally exhausted after doing the simplest things like running an errand for my parents. It feels like my mind is in a fog, like my thoughts are all muggy.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced something like this. TIA.

Greeting to you! I have had some memory problems associated with medication I was taking.

I actually suggest you go to your medical doctor to see if there might be something medical going on.

Also, things like stress could cause what you are describing, I think.

I've had that feeling before! A lot was due to the stress in my married life and work life at the time. At the time I had three women bullying me at work which made me hate my job. Then my ex-husband was non-supportive of me needing help that I just couldn't find, I was live in England at the time and knew nothing about where to start.

Stress can do a lot of weird things to us.

Many factors can make people forget and have a foggy mind. Stress, lack of sleep, medications, ADHD/ADD, depression, being overwhelmed and more. Being anxious can also makes us forget things. What helps is being mindful and always having things in one spot - for example.... keys immediately go on the key hook and credit/debt cards instantly go back in the same spot in the wallet. For example sometimes I forget to lock the front door and turn off the porch light after taking my dog out at night. As I'm coming up the stairs I think in my head......"lock door and turn off light." That's a mindful thought.

Simple meditation also clears the mind. Take a look at your eating habits - eating healthy and moderate exercise increases concentration and focus. Hope it gets better soon.

Thanks everyone for the advice. There are certainly a lot of possibilities... And there's no way of knowing which is correct in my case. I guess it's just another fun thing to deal with.
