Let's put our resources together and have our own dinner together.

I have tea, cheese, crackers and a can of cranberry sauce. I don't have sugar or cream for the tea.

What can you contribute?

Jan

The holidays are very hard for me still, at my age. I am not alone, kids and spouse cooking away just went out to play. I can bring sweet potatoe pie. I don't know why it's so hard to stay present, except past trauma. Oh yeah, have home made sweet cider.

I love the sizzly cider!
No, I wasn't alone either, and am always happy to see my daughter with the twins, but I have to admit here that I could have been happy alone for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. Holidays no longer affect me in such a way that I would feel alone. This has come after many years....many disappointments, and even coping with "holiday blues" to the point of being incapacitated and emotionally paralyzed. No more of that here. If I'm alone, I am content.
Wishing you all a happy post holiday weekend.
Love
Patty

The TP tree is exactly what I had in mind, that's why I asked! For Those Of Us Who Are Alone This Thanksgiving

Apparently, if I bring myself, I'm bringing dessert too. My sister had a Chinese family she knows over for dinner yesterday. Mei asked if "Candy" was short for a more formal name. My sister said yes and proceeded to tell a story I'd never heard before.

My sibs are 8, 10, 12 and 13 years older than me. According to my sister, my mother named me Candy because I was "the dessert"! For Those Of Us Who Are Alone This Thanksgiving

(It's really Candace, but only the IRS calls me that.)

Is somebody bringing leftover pumpkin pie? We only had apple and I miss my pumpkin pie! I think of myself more as a really fat-laden gooey chocolate thingy. For Those Of Us Who Are Alone This Thanksgiving

Candy
