Popping In

Hi, All. I am going through a lot of crap right now, but I wanted to pop in and let you know I didn't forget you all. I can't hang out here regularly, and do all the things I want to do in my life, too, but I do want to stop in from time to time. I hope to make some of the chats I see that are scheduled, too. Is it Fridays only, or Tuesdays, too? What time on Tuesday? Thanks.

We're being evicted from our apartment under false accusations. I won't go into the long story here, and you don't know me to automatically believe me, but I am angry as hell and feeling scared and anxious, because they're making conditions that are incredibly unreasonable, and absolute hell for my OCD if we want to have 90 days to get out (otherwise, it's 30 days, which means we have to be out by December 6th). However, they don't have a court order yet, and a constable has to be present at the eviction itself.

I've been trying to obtain a mental health advocate, on the advice of some friends, but I'm not having much luck. One place tells me to call another, and another, and another. One place told me to call a number that I'd already called. I've left a message with my med-shrink to call me back, but she hasn't, so far, and she's only in on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I don't think she can do anything, anyway. I'm supposed to call back to one place tomorrow.

If anyone has experience with evictions and mental health issues in NJ, I'd appreciate a PM. I really need some help. We're planning on buying a house (well, my boyfriend is; I'll just be living there), and my boyfriend is looking into how much of a loan he can get, but I felt pressured to agree to the conditions before he left for Thanksgiving vacation, and didn't want to agree. If anyone can help, thanks.

maven, i'm sorry that you're having a hard time right now. i wish i lived nearby.....sour cream cookies and tea! i hope things get straightened out for you on the eviction. i don't know any NJ law.....

I'm so sorry you are being evicted. That must be a very scary thing. I hope you will, at least, get the ninety days to do it in. Maybe you can find something by that time.

Thanks. I made a bunch more calls today. It's the conditions they want us to agree to to get 90 days that I'm mostly having the problem with. I was advised today to get a lawyer, and I'm looking into that. I'm told I have more rights than I think.
