I have a real problem with waiting for... anything
for someone to come, for money to come, for something to happen... I get bored and then i get anxious. I have trouble passing the time it seems.

((((((((( Rainbowz ))))))))))

Do you like to read? Reading helps me pass the time. How about watching a favorite movie? That, too helps me.

Hugs,

Jan

I get like that occasionally, I know what you mean..just try to get your mind off it by doing something productive, that way you won't for guilty for replacing the thought....and so the thought is suppressed temporarily. Good luck.

Yes most definitely!

All you can really do is keep yourself busy ...and know that you can do it.

I don't like waiting either, but it always seems that we have to wait.

I do my best. I especially hate waiting in waiting rooms -- doctors' offices, car repair. The TV set always seems to be blaring, so that I can't even read, or people talk loudly on cell phones or to each other, and in many auto waiting rooms, the air seems stale.

Sometimes, when I feel like I'm waiting for the knife to fall, the shoe to drop -- a vague or not so vague feeling that something unpleasant is going to happen -- I wish I could put it off forever.

personally, i love "avoidance"....... Anyone else have real problems with waiting? then i don't have to wait.....

rainbowwz....i know of what you speak. and i've pretty much conquered it by taking at least two books and one magazine if it involves waiting somewhere other than home.

if i'm home, i play really loud music, my favourite songs, and try to concentrate on melodies, lyrics, etc.

i've been given a puzzle for Christmas that has 1000 pieces. picture a blue background and a woman's head profile made up of pieces of every kind of religious icon known to us......is that thing going to be difficult or what? sooooooooooooo, the next time you have to wait, call me and come over and we'll work on it. Anyone else have real problems with waiting? love ya, pat

postcards. they're cheap, postage isn't that much and they're short enough to not be daunting to write. most folks are happy to receive them. service ppl from any country usually appreciate a message of support and a postcard is an easy way to show that.

we had many friends all studying abroad during a five year period. postcards already addressed and stamped were rubberbanded with a pen in our pack or purse at all times.........then when in line we wrote, when sitting waiting for bus we wrote, when stuck in stopped traffic we wrote, when stranded we wrote, when waiting in offices for professionals we wrote.

'nother idea to pass time. plus old fashioned letters and cards are so old skool they're retro cool now! Anyone else have real problems with waiting?

Love the postcards suggestion, Zh. I must remember that. Also, there are very cool original art works, called ACEOs on ebay, that sell for as little as 99 cents. They help an artist make a bit, and they can be unique and very individual.

I don't do waiting well, either! I get very, very impatient, especially when it's due to someone's incompetence or lack of punctuality! Anyone else have real problems with waiting?

Sometimes I like waiting. It's good for the imagination. If I wait in public areas I like to watch the people and guess how they are, where they are going ect. I make up little stories about them. Waiting is also a realy good time to see the beaty in the little things. It takes a lot of effort to see it, but I like looking around for something beautiful, or something happy. Some places are just extremely uninspirering, so a usually carry a book and some music in my backpack.
Sometimes if I wait in a new place I like to walk around and see what the place is like, it usualy calms me down to see what kind of place I'm in.
I also carry dry bread in my backpack because in a lot of places there are birds you can feed.
I thought the postcard thing was a great idea Anyone else have real problems with waiting?.
