I had a Doberman, my favorite dog, the dog of dogs. He was so well-trained, and I could take him absolutely anywhere. I belonged to a small church, and I would bring him there with me, so that he could walk me home in the evening.

Everyone loved L'Ombre. He was even invited to parties. "Bring L'Ombre with you," people would say, like he was my date.

He had a code word, "friend." This is a friend, L'Ombre, meant there was no need for him to be protective. In fact, even the minister and his wife invited L'Ombre for Christmas dinner with me so that people, many of them older folk, could enjoy his loving presence.

A little girl in an elevator once said to her mother, "What an ugly dog" and it broke my heart that anyone would say that about L'Ombre. It was if I had a disabled child and someone had been cruel enough to say that.

Wants, I took Tippy everywhere with me. I know exactly how you're saying. People would tell me that he was more like a human than a dog. He was so well-behaved. He went to Pow-Wows and walked around, without a leash, greeting people. He never, ever went into a dance circle. Cool dogs are so wonderful.

An internet friend sent me a book for my birthday "Mystical Dogs" Animals as Guides to Our Inner Life, by Jean Houston. I cannot wait to read it. Tippy is still my moral compass. WWTD? SQTM........xoxoxox pat

Hah! I would have told the mother she had a rude ugly child!

[jokes ... I understand she was probably too little to appreciate him].

He sounds awesome ... invited to parties, how cute!

the Atlanta Falcons's player sold his $750k house for $354k..........wonder why?

that's where the dogfighting ring was that he supported. i'd drop that piece of property like a hot potato too if i wanted to get away from it...........almost 70 emaciated pitbulls and heelers were picked up at his house.........

do we think Vick will be properly punished? i'm curious as to what you think about celebrity cimes against animals. remember a prominent NBA player was found starving his great dane about 4 months ago and we never heard about it again.

yes, we share the same landlord and he is taking the man's side........you know, they share the same anatomy and it's not cool to side with a woman who's right. so, i just ignore them. the police watch them constantly and are waiting with bated breath to get them on something..........

we enclosed my front yard and they can't see me now. BUT, sunday morning, i went out with my coffee and had to come back in because three of the men were on the front porch, drinking and talking entirely with the c,b,and f words........couldn't do a sentence without throwing those in and they talk LOUD. next sunday, if it happens, i'm calling the cops. i can't have my granddaughter here on sundays now............i can't have her hearing that.
