my best friend's parents are insane. she has anxiety disorder and when she was little she woul get panic attacks about going to school. her dad would get mad and yell at her; her mom would just be like "i dont want to deal with this" and she would leave. now, her mom thinks her dad is out to kill her, her dad wont divorce her mom because hes afraid she'll kill herself, her mom like cries in the dark and scratches at my friends door at night and is just basically horrible. and they are always ALWAYS fighting. now she has developed this separation anxiety with her boyfriend, so i am so scared whats going to happen when they break up. because come on, we're only in high school, that stuff doesnt last. shes already attempted suicide once because of her family. and when she got caught because of drugs, the only thing her mom had to say was "i dont care what hapens to you, i just dont want people at work finding out" those are nearly her exact words. and they wont pay for her therapy. and the free school therapy is rare and not helpful. what am i going to do?

this is what she said to me:
"i just want to go somewhere warm and dark and slowly and painlessly die. so badly you dont even know. i dont want it, i need it more than anything. i cant cry anymore, i cant hurt myself anymore it doesnt do anything. im afraid of the future, but i cant deal with the present, and i cant live in the past. being drugged is the only thing that makesit go away for any sustained period of time."

Tell the school counseling office anyway and/or maybe find a local agency and report child abuse so they have to look into the family/situation? How about your own parents, could they have some ideas or be able to leverage some help somewhere?
