I just got home from the hospital... my operation went well, it was nothing major, so I didn't expect anything to go wrong... My tummy hurts like hell, though... but nothing that that schedule 7 injection couldn't fix... I'm flying on to pof the world!!! Home from hospital

I had a lovely lazy weekend on our gamefarm to rest before I went to the hospital. I saw loads of animals, it was really nice. It's middle of summer here, so the bushes are thick and green and it's rather difficult to see anything, so we were really lucky...

The first day we got their, I was driving and trying to negotiate the road to the house because we usually get lost... when I looked up their were 7 giraffes standing in the road infront of me!!! I got the fright of my life!!! It was amazing. While I was looking at them I saw something move in the corner of my eye, and right next to my car there was a zebra eating grass. Unfortunately everything was still packed away and I couldn't reach my camera in time, but I got other good picks later that weekend which I will put up in the gallery.

We did not see the crocodile this time, but we did upset a group of baboons by the dam... Home from hospital

We desparetely tried to find the rhino's because they have little ones, but unfortunately we didn't see them.

I took my chance behind the wheel of a landcruiser that I think doubled as the ark... the roof has been taken off though, and so have the doors. Now that was fun, you can drive anywhere with that thing, I just had a little problem seeing over the dash! Home from hospital

We ran out of petrol on a night drive in the middle of nowhere, which was cool and scary. What scared me is that I know there are the occasional leopards on the farm and the rhino's are a bit moody... and we couldn't leave the lights on because it would drain the battery. So, now we waited for rescue in the pitch black, surrounded by wild animals and it started to rain to top it all of.... then came the thunder. I always feel sooo safe during lightning when I'm stuck in a metal vehicle next to a very tall tree.... But, we made it trhough the night, so no harm.

We saw the most interesting bug thingy... one of those stick things, but it was huge!!!! I'll put the pic in the gallery, you really cannot see that it is a bug.... it looks exactly like a stick!!!!

The weather was nice, maybe a bit too hot at times, it got up to 41 degrees celcius, but it rained in the evening which cooled everything down nicely. The bad thing is you can't sleep with windows open because the bugs will carry you away, and there are a lot of spiders and scorpions, and you can't sleep outside because there is no fence between you and the animals... which aren't dangerous, mostly bucks and stuff, but try believing that in the middle of the night when the hyenas start howling....

All in all it was good fun, please go see my pics, I'll have them all up by the end of the week!

Thanks for proving my point Tomi!!! Home from hospital
And trust me, when you have absolutely nothing to do all day long and it's too hot to go outside, reading is a welcome refuge!
