At the bottom of each forum where we can choose our favourites, there is also an option to subscribe and unsubscribe to the forum??? What does that mean???

Actually, I think you would be correct. At least that's what it means at the site I work at. Also, sometimes they will send you an e-mail notification as well. It just depends how it is set up.
BTW~JUSTAPIXIE, No question is a DUMB question! Remember that  You are a very smart person, and that's how we learn by asking question's

Hi JustAPixie,
As far as I can recall (it's been a while since I had favourite threads/subforums) you'll receive an email notification at specified times or if a new post is made in a new thread ... I think.

Actually, I think we're talking about 3 different options here.
One being that you can select in your Preferences to receive an email for any forum you wish to follow that way. Two being that if you select a THREAD as a favorite, the link to it will display in your HOME PAGE area (pm/mailbox area) so you can direct click to it and not have to hunt it (them.) Three being that you may select your favorite FORUMS and then toggle between seeing ALL the forums available or ONLY those in your Favorite listing. (Thus eliminating any that might, say, trigger you or that you never read etc.)

And angie you are right, there are no dumb PIXIES, only dumb bunnies!  I understand all those things Sky, but along with the options to choose a forum as a favourite, there is also the option to subscribe to it... If I set my email notification off, and subscribe, will I still get the email? All just so confusing!! ...I think I'll just play with it and see where I end up... come get me if I get lost in a few days ! lol

Email Notifications / Subscriptions -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do you want email notifications when you receive private messages? No Yes Do you want all replies to your favorite threads emailed to you? No Yes We publish a monthly newsletter related to this community. Do you wish to receive these newsletter emails? No Yes
