....about what therapists have to disclose.

I know they do if you are suicidal, or are at risk of hurting someone else.

Do they need to disclose information under other circumstances?

if you have a plan to hurt yourself, or someone else. sometimes also if they need to testify in court for insurance purposes they need to disclose your progress. also, they tend to converse with other therapists or their supervisors about their clients to sorta get "advice" on professional way to "deal" with certain situations. but, other than that, their lips are sealed.

Another reason: If they suspect child abuse in your home, whether it is caused by you or not, then they have to report the situation to CPS.

It depends on state laws, licencing boards, etc. what exactly must be reported and how it is all worded and enforced so look it up online through your state health/mental health site, or the licensing board for your T/PDoc in your state.

Things can get complicated legally like in my state: http://www.jaapl.org/cgi/content/full/33/4/561

I would ask my T about it and about their "take" on when they would disclose and to whom and why, etc. as that is what it boils down to, their judgment.

They have to disclose:
If you are a harm to yourself
If you are a threat to others
If you are abusing an eldery person, disabled person, or child
If they are court ordered to break confidentiality

Thanks everyone. I've been looking around online to see what I can find, but haven't found anything specific.

I've got some things happening and I'm not sure if my T will need to say anything about it or not, guess I'll just keep my mouth shut.

Thanks for your help. Just a quick question.....

If you are going harm someone else, there is a duty to warn-- meaning they have to warn the person you made the threat against.

If you are in danger of seriously harming or killing yourself.

If there is suspect of abuse.

If a judge orders it.
